NeckTiePhoon April 2015 Tie Box Review

NeckTiePhoon is a new subscription service that sends you a stylish, high quality necktie every month.

Unlike other subscriptions, this one is not a rental service so the ties are yours to keep. Forever and ever. There are 3 different options to choose from: The Basic Subscription ($10 – includes a high quality tie), Premium Subscription ($25 – includes a European designed 100% silk tie), or Subscription Plus ($35 – includes high quality tie, as well as a fashionable accessory such as cuff links, tie bars, etc).

I was recently sent a selection from their Basic plan.

The tie was shipped in a plain white box stamped with the NeckTiePhoon logo.

Inside was more whiteness.

The tie itself was wrapped in cellophane and while I thought it was a nice color, the size kinda surprised me. I think I’m just used to seeing trendy skinny ties everywhere and kind of expected to find one in the box.

It’s not a bad-looking tie at all, just not something my husband would wear. The brand on the label is Manzini Neckwear and it’s made of 100% polyester.

Here’s a closeup of the pattern. I like the addition of the white polka dots over the burgundy background.

NeckTiePhoon is an ideal subscription for those who wear ties on the regular. I do wish they had an option to choose your preferred style (fat or skinny), and the packaging could use a little color… However, I’m guessing most guys aren’t too picky about fancy boxes and pretty tissue paper. 😉
