Nice Tomato is a fun coloring book subscription service that sends your child a new “Color Folio” every month. For each subscription purchased, another is donated to a children’s hospital. Win-win!
Subscribers will receive a high quality, hand-drawn coloring book packed full of silly, whimsical characters. The pages are perforated to easily tear them out for display. Themes are appropriate for both boys and girls alike (adults too!). A pouch of colorful crayons or markers are also included each month.
Subscriptions are $20/month, shipping included.
Let’s check out Nice Tomato’s April 2015 Color Folio!
Everything was shipped inside a sturdy mailing envelope that featured the Nice Tomato logo — which was colored in with a pink crayon. 🙂
“Spread the Color” is Nice Tomato’s give-back program which sends a Color Folio to a children’s hospital for every subscription purchased. When you sign up, you get to choose from their list of selected hospitals. More will be added to the list as the company grows.
The book itself was adorable and I was impressed by the nice quality of the paper. (I was actually sent 2 — one for each of my girls!)
The crayons included are from the brand P’Kolino. They’re completely non-toxic, washable, and triangular (no rolling off the table!). I believe they send crayons to younger children, and markers to the older ones. You can change your preference for either one at any time.
I love the “non-traditional” style of the illustrations. Our family totally embraces all things weird (the girls’ favorite show is “Yo Gabba Gabba”), so this is right up our alley.
I’m *very* tempted to color this myself. Actually, I thought the books were so cute that I decided to save them until the girls are a little older so they’ll really appreciate them. These are too cool for random scribbles. 😉
The cat on the left totally reminds me of Chloe’s favorite stuffed kitty (aptly named “Kitty). Well, minus the fancy dress and glasses.
Nice Tomato seems like a great subscription for kiddos and I love that they give back with their Spread the Color initiative. The whimsical illustrations, sturdy paper, and universal appeal of the characters make for one seriously awesome coloring book. Plus, the inclusion of high quality crayons (or markers) is also a nice touch.
