OmNomBox is a fun subscription box that sends a selection of Asian treats to your door every month.
Every box will contain 10 to 12 full and sample sized snacks, including a beverage and sometimes a bonus treat. You’ll receive products from Japan, Korea, Taiwan, and more. An info sheet is always included to give you a better idea of what type of snacks are in the box (very helpful since only about half of the labels are in English).
Subscriptions are $25/month, but you can save $3 when you use coupon code “ROSEBUDS3” at checkout.
Let’s see what’s in the July 2015 OmNomBox!
I love how they sealed the tissue paper with “eyes”! Cuuute!
The info sheet included photos and descriptions of every item in the box. It also states that you can contact them if you have any questions regarding nutritional info for any of the items. Nice to know!
Lotte Koala Soft Cookies – This is a small, soft cookie sandwich made with moist cake and a “multi-flavor” cream filling that includes strawberry. It sort of looks like a cake-ier fig newton.
Glico Cream Collon – I think I’ve gotten these in a different snack box once and my girls really liked ’em. They’re thin cookie tubes filled with a cream filling. Sort of like tiny cannoli.
Nongchim Sweet Potato Chips – I was surprised to see that these chips are actually vegan! They’re made with white sweet potatoes, pumpkin powder, and other vegan-friendly ingredients. Cool.
Glico Pretz Pizza Flavored Baked Snack Sticks – I thought this was pocky at first, but it’s actually a pizza-flavored breadstick snack. The sticks are flavored with tomato, cheese, and spices for a true pizza taste.
Lotte Matcha Chococo – Two of these thin, baked cookies were included. These are made with green tea and covered in milk chocolate for a unique flavor combo.
Raspberry KitKat Bar – I’ve seen these berry flavored KitKats before, and always wondered what they’d taste like. This limited edition bar has raspberry cream instead of chocolate and is described as having a sweet & sour flavor.
Taisun Grass Jelly Drink – Okay, gonna be totally honest here… This looks straight up nas-tay. I guess chunky drinks just aren’t my thing. Apparently grass jelly (yum?) is a common dessert throughout Asia and is comparable (the same as?) what we know as “bubble tea” here in the US. For the record, I’ve had bubble tea once and was definitely not a fan. Definitely a unique item to include though!
Glico Cookies & Cream Pocky – These look awesome and I’m bummed that they have dairy so I can’t try ’em. They’re basically crunchy chocolate cookie sticks dipped in cream speckled with cookie bits. Mmm!
Kasugai Fruit Gummies – Japanese gummy candies made with real “delicious and juicy” apple flavor.
Bourbon Roanne Vanilla Biscuits – Thin wafer-like biscuits with a smooth vanilla cream filling.
Iwamito Ren Boro – Adorable little “egg cookies” that melt in your mouth. A perfect toddler treat!
Bonus Snack: Mystery DIY Kit – These DIY candy kits are super popular in Japan. Each kit has step-by-step instructions to allow you to make your very own (totally adorable) little treats. I’m saving this for when my girls are a little older (and more patient!).
So many cool treats! OmNomBox is a great subscription for anyone who likes to try new snacks, especially from other parts of the world. It seems like a pretty good value too, though I didn’t do a cost breakdown. Oh — don’t forget, you can save $3 on your first box when you use coupon code “ROSEBUDS3” at checkout! 🙂
