Gluten Free Conscious Box February 2014 Review & Codes for FREE Boxes!
I know I just posted a Conscious Box review a couple days ago, BUT this month I received a gluten-free box in addition to my regular vegan one. So I thought I’d share both so you can see the difference between the two. (I’m actually going to copy & paste the “repeat” items from the vegan post, so if you already read that one, you might wanna skip over the dupes.)
For those who aren’t aware, Conscious Box is a monthly subscription box that features eco-friendly/natural products. Items range from healthy snacks, to natural toothpaste, and everything in between. There are 3 different boxes to choose from: The Vegan Box (which I normally get), The Gluten-Free Box (this one), and the Classic Box. All boxes are $19.95/month, but you can almost always find a coupon code — often up to 50% off! (Psst… There’s a code for THREE free boxes at the end of this post.)
I’ve never gotten the gluten-free box before, so I was curious to see what was inside… [read more…]
Bike Loot February 2014 Review
Bike Loot is a monthly subscription service that helps cyclists “ride longer and live healthier”. Each month you’ll receive 5 to 6 pro-level cycling products that span the areas of nutrition, maintenance, and personal care. Boxes start as low as $10/month (plus shipping).
Full disclosure: Despite my visible tattoos and my husband’s gnarly beard, we are totally not cyclists. Hell, my husband doesn’t even own a bike. That said, we still enjoyed our Bike Loot box! No, really! Though it’s geared towards bike dudes (and dude-ettes), its contents are practical enough for anyone — even my bike-less husband.
Wanna see what’s inside? Let’s goooo! [read more…]

Just like last month’s box, this one was also unusually heavy. What was inside? Let’s have a look-see! [read more…]
North Coast Organics Deodorant Review & Giveaway!
I was first introduced to North Coast Organics a couple months ago, when they were featured in January’s Vegan Presence package. In that package was a travel size of “Death by Lavender” and it was truly love at first sniff!
North Coast Organics is a small independent mom & pop son company run by Nathan (the founder) and his mom Debbie. Cute, right? It was started by Nathan when he was having a hard time finding an effective, organic deodorant that was also vegan. His solution? Create his own! Problem solved. 🙂
All of the products offered by North Coast Organics are certified organic, cruelty-free, and vegan. In addition to deodorant, they also sell (100% vegan) hand & body lotions, as well as lip balms.
I received samples of all 3 of their deodorant scents for review — check ’em out! [read more…]

Citrus Lane February 2014 Review #2 and 50% Discount!
*As of December 2015, Citrus Lane is no longer in business. If you’re looking for an alternative, bluum is a great choice. — You can see my reviews of them here. With bluum, you can choose your own products and build your own box. They feature the same great brands, plus you can save $10 on your first month with coupon code “MRVA286CCE“.*
Although I’ve already reviewed February’s Citrus Lane box not too long ago, I’m posting another one!
I totally forgot that my mom took advantage of their free box offer last month and ordered one for the girls. She aged it up a bit (not sure exactly how much), so I’m guessing this box is for a 2 year old maybe? Seems about right, based on the other reviews I’ve seen.
I was SO excited when she called me up to remind me that she had ordered a box, and then went on to reveal what was inside. I was hoping that I’d get 2 of the items in our “normal” box, and when we didn’t I was kinda bummed. So when I heard that we actually DID get them, I was super stoked. (Yep, when you’re a mom you totally get “stoked” by stuff like this. Sad, but true.)
Oh, if you don’t already know, Citrus Lane is a monthly subscription for babies/kids (aged newborn-5). It’s $29/month (cheaper with longer subs) and includes a nice assortment of toys, books, snacks, toiletries, etc. Sometimes they even include a gift for mom. (They did this time. Yay!)
Okay, onto Box #2! [read more…]

There used to be monthly “themes”, but they’ve recently moved away from that and instead curate each box based upon your child’s current age in months.
My girls are currently 18 months old, so the box I received was for 19 months. Let’s see what they sent! [read more…]

KIND Healthy Grains Granola Review & KIND Bar Giveaway!
I’m all about trying healthy new snacks, so when KIND offered to send me some of their Healthy Grains Clusters to try out, I was more than happy to give ’em a try.
KIND firmly believes that if you can’t pronounce an ingredient, you probably shouldn’t be eating it. That’s why all of their products contain only “ingredients you can see & pronounce” (as proudly stated on their packaging!). Their granola, as well as their popular snack bars, are all made with 100% whole grains, fruits, and nuts — no refined sugar, no artificial flavors — nothing but all natural snackin’ goodness!
I was sent three bags of their vegan-friendly (not all of their flavors are) Healthy Grains Clusters and I couldn’t wait to dig in! [read more…]

Yay! Citrus Lane day! This is one of my favorite subs and I always get (a little too) excited when I see it on my doorstep.
If you don’t already know, Citrus Lane is a monthly subscription for babies/kids (aged newborn-5). It’s $29/month (cheaper with longer subs) and includes a nice assortment of toys, books, snacks, toiletries, etc. Sometimes they even include a gift for mom. (They did this time. Yay!)
February’s box was loosely themed with “items that we hope will brighten up the dismal weather”… Which is awfully close to last month’s “items that will remind you that spring is right around the corner”. Eh, whatever. I’m sure it’s not easy to think of unique themes every month. This box was tailored to a 19-month old girl.
