April 2016 POPSUGAR Must Have unboxing time!
If you’re new here, POPSUGAR Must Have is a monthly lifestyle subscription box that’s curated with a fun variety of “on trend” products curated by the POPSUGAR team. Items can range from food, beauty, household, fashion, fitness gear and everything in between. Unlike a lot of other subscription boxes, everything in this box is full sized. The total value is almost always well over $100!
Monthly boxes are $39.95, but you can save $5 on your first month with coupon code “MUSTHAVE5“.
Okay, let’s see what’s in the April 2016 POPSUGAR Must Have box!
The April 2016 POPSUGAR Must Have box was inspired by the following themes: Floral, Green, Natural, Sustainable, Fresh, and Renewal.
As always, the info card included photos, descriptions, and retail values for each item.
Cravings: Recipes for All the Food You Want to Eat by Chrissy Teigen ($29.99 retail, $14.99 Amazon) – I believe this was the first spoiler for April, and I wasn’t too thrilled. I rarely use cookbooks and when I do, they’re vegan-focused. Plus, I’m not totally sure who Chrissy Teigen is (a model?), but based on the photos of her throughout the book, she looks hella annoying. Just sayin’.
See?
“Vegetable Things”… Yep, definitely a model. Ha. Okay, that was mean, but still… I didn’t think a cookbook could be annoying until I flipped through this one. Decent recipes and lots of full color photos though (and not ALL of her, thankfully).
Canvas Home Tinware Salt & Pepper Shakers ($12) – I grew up in a house of antique-obsessed parents, so I love the look of vintage kitchen items. The fake “wear marks” on these seem a little silly though — especially since they’re in basically the same place on each shaker. Still cute I guess. 🙂
Farmacy Sleep Tight Firming Night Balm ($48) – I first discovered Farmacy products earlier this month when their Lip Bloom was included in the April 2016 POPSUGAR Must Have Mini box. I was impressed with the packaging on the lip product, but this night cream is crazy fancy! Apply the echinacea-infused balm right before bed to help replenish and hydrate your skin overnight. It’s unique formula promises to firm, protect, nourish, and prevent the appearance of wrinkles.
Noon Design Shop “Lemons” Flour Sack Tea Towel ($18) – I was kind of surprised to see this listed as having a lemon design cos I absolutely thought it was oranges. (Do they look orange to anyone else or am I nuts?) This 100% unbleached cotton tea towel is pre-washed and was hand silkscreened in Rhode Island. The info card says that it gets better with every wash. Softer, I’m guessing?
Royal Apothic Field Poppy Conservatories Hand Creme ($24) – I can never have too much hand cream! This one features a field poppy scent with notes of fig, tea, jasmine, lily, moss, and other nature-inspired fragrances. I love that it comes with its own little… clamp thing(?) to help you get every drop of lotion out.
Next by Nature Dark Chocolate Covered Espresso Beans ($3.99) – I was SO hoping these chocolate covered espresso beans would be vegan-friendly. Alas, they are not. 🙁 They are gluten-free though!
Bloom That $20 Gift Card ($20) – This was listed on the info card as a “special extra”. It would have been a lot more special if it covered the entire cost of the flowers (it doesn’t come close). 😉
I definitely enjoyed the April POPSUGAR Must Have box more than last month’s, but that’s not saying a lot. It wasn’t bad by any means, just not as great as the first couple boxes of 2016 were. That said, the value was still as impressive as always — roughly $120 (NOT including the gift card and using Amazon’s lower price for the book).
If you’d like to check out POPSUGAR Must Have for yourself, you can save $5 on your first box when you use coupon code “MUSTHAVE5” at checkout. That’ll make your box around $35 shipped!
