October POPSUGAR Must Have unboxing time! (How is it already October?!)
If you’re new here, POPSUGAR Must Have is a monthly lifestyle subscription box that’s curated with a fun variety of “on trend” products curated by the POPSUGAR team. Items can range from food, beauty, household, fashion, fitness gear and everything in between. Unlike a lot of other subscription boxes, everything in this box is full sized.
Monthly boxes are $39.95 and there’s almost always a discount code available (I’ve included one at the end of this post!). With most boxes having values of $100+, it’s a GREAT deal!
Okay, let’s see what’s in the October 2015 POPSUGAR Must Have box!
October’s box was inspired by the following themes: Autumn, Restful Nights, Cozy, Irresistible, and Breast Cancer Awareness.
As always, the info card included photos, descriptions, and retail values for each item.
Why Not Me? by Mindy Kaling ($25 retail, $15 on Amazon) – I wasn’t too thrilled when I saw this released as October’s spoiler. I don’t mind Mindy Kaling, but I’m not really a fan of getting books in subscription boxes. Everyone has their own tastes when it comes to books/reading, so I kinda wish they’d just leave ’em to the actual book/literary subscriptions.
Richer Poorer Hope Slipper Socks ($15) – Now these I love! I’m all about comfy slipper socks and the colors of these ones are great — and chosen for a reason. POPSUGAR designed these with Richer Poorer to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Nice!
Savvy Sleepers Luxury Satin Pillowcase ($36) – Okay, I’d never in a zillion years pay $36 for one pillowcase, but that’s the beauty of subscription boxes — you get to try out things you’d probably never buy on your own. This 100% satin case claims to prevent sleep wrinkles, reduce hair breakage, and keep styled hair in tact. It also has a little pocket to hold lavender, love notes (pfft!), etc.
The Honest Company Sea Salt & Sugar Body Scrub ($17) – I really need to start pounding through my body scrubs, since they seem to be the subscription box inclusion of choice these days. (I probably have close to a dozen of ’em right now!) This one is from The Honest Company and includes a blend of whole grain sugar, shea butter, sea salt, almond oil, and other all natural ingredients.
Easy, Tiger Brown Paper Liquor Bag Set ($8) – Not too stoked about these wine bags, since I never buy (or drink) wine. I’ve gifted it once or twice, but it’s definitely not something I buy regularly. I realize I’m probably in the minority on this one though, so I totally get why they sent ’em.
Belgian Boys Stroopwafel ($1.59) – Ah, the stroopwafel. Another item that has popped up in many a subscription box over the last couple years. This Dutch treat is said to pair awesomely with hot coffee or tea.
It’s a 10 Miracle Leave-In Product (~$6) – This leave-in spray offers “10 benefits” for your hair, including adding shine, reducing frizz, and detangling knots.
Danielle Stevens Monogram Gift Card ($40) – Meh. You can only use this gift card on the personalized section of their site where nothing is priced below $48 (that item not even being customizable). No thanks.
I definitely didn’t love this month’s POPSUGAR Must Have box, but I didn’t hate it either. I was kinda hoping for something more fall-ish like last year’s October box, but what can ya do. The total value was a little over $100, which isn’t bad by any means, but also not as high as most of their boxes. Hopefully they really step it up for November!
If you’d like to check out POPSUGAR Must Have for yourself, you can still save $5 on your first box when you use coupon code “MUSTHAVE5” at checkout. That’ll make your box around $35 shipped!
