July 2016 POPSUGAR Must Have unboxing time!
If you’re new here, POPSUGAR Must Have is a monthly lifestyle subscription box that’s curated with a fun variety of “on trend” products curated by the POPSUGAR team. Items can range from food, beauty, household, fashion, fitness gear and everything in between. Unlike a lot of other subscription boxes, everything in this box is full sized. The total value is almost always well over $100!
Monthly boxes are $39.95, but you can save $5 on your first month with coupon code “MUSTHAVE5“.
Okay, let’s see what’s in the July 2016 POPSUGAR Must Have box!
The box!
A peek inside.
As always, the info card included photos, descriptions, and retail values for each item. The July 2016 POPSUGAR Must Have box was inspired by the following themes: Sunny, Retro, Fun, Vintage, Playful, Cheeky, and Warm.
Michael Stars Porcelain Skinny Scarf in White ($30) – I wasn’t exactly thrilled when I heard there was going to be yet another scarf in July’s POPSUGAR box, but it’s actually much different from the scarves they’ve sent in the (not so distant) past. It’s super skinny and therefore works much better as a headband as opposed to a neck warmer/accessory — though that would totally work too. I just might not have to toss it into the swap pile after all. 😉
Pintrill Pineapple Pin ($12) – I get that the enamel pin trend is hot right now, but it’s just not something I’m into. (Which is kinda odd, being that I had a jacket covered in pins back in my “punk rock days”.) That said, this lil’ pineapple is a lot smaller than I initially thought it would be which almost makes me want to keep it. Almost.
European Wax Center Oh My Brow! Highlighter in Pearl ($19) – I don’t normally use regular ol’ face highlighters, but I’m willing to try out a brow one. Seems easy enough to just sweep a bit of this over ’em and blend. It can also be applied to the inner corner of the eyes, cheekbones, or above your cupid’s bow.
Sunnylife Inflatable Swan Drink Holder ($18) – Another item that I wasn’t too stoked about when I first saw the spoilers. However, we recently decided to get one of those inflatable pools that my husband and I can fit in with our kiddos, so this drink holder will likely be used as a makeshift boat for the girls’ Peppa Pig figures. 😉
Sachajuan Hair in the Sun ($32) – Meh. I don’t use product in my hair so this was a total miss for me. It’s a leave-in serum that helps keep your hair color vibrant while protecting it from damaging UV rays.
House of Pom Emoji Cocktail Napkins ($25) – These cocktail napkins were designed exclusively for POPSUGAR and feature the following emojis: bumble bee, purple flower, tropical drink, winky face, palm tree, and cool/sunglasses face. They’re made of 100% cotton and are machine washable. Cute, but not something I’d ever use.
Joe Chips Classic Sea Salt Retro Potato Chips ($1.49) – Kettle chips! Is it sad that this is one of my favorite items in the box? 😉
Trove Gift Card ($20) – This was included as a “special extra”, but being that all the jewelry on the site is pretty pricey, it doesn’t feel all that special to me. Boo.
I dunno… I didn’t hate the July POPSUGAR Must Have box like I anticipated after seeing the spoilers, so I guess that’s good. The scarf that I wasn’t thrilled about actually turned out being a lot cuter in person and I’m glad I now have a use for the inflatable swan. I’ll probably try out the brow stick and of course I’ll devour the chips. As always the total retail value was impressive at over $137 in products (NOT including the value of the gift card).
If you’d like to check out POPSUGAR Must Have for yourself, you can save $5 on your first box when you use coupon code “MUSTHAVE5” at checkout. That’ll make your box around $35 shipped!
