October 2016 POPSUGAR Must Have unboxing time!
If you’re new here, POPSUGAR Must Have is a monthly lifestyle subscription box that’s curated with a fun variety of “on trend” products curated by the POPSUGAR team. Items can range from food, beauty, household, fashion, fitness gear and everything in between. Unlike a lot of other subscription boxes, everything in this box is full sized. The total value is almost always well over $100!
Monthly boxes are $39.95, but you can save $5 on your first month with coupon code “MUSTHAVE5“.
Okay, let’s see what’s in the October 2016 POPSUGAR Must Have box!
The familiar pink & white POPSUGAR box.
A peek inside!
As always, the info card included photos, descriptions, and retail values for each item. The October 2016 POPSUGAR Must Have box was inspired by the following themes: Reinvention, Warm, Cozy, Snuggly, Inspiration, and Happy.
Henri Bendel Packable Umbrella ($58) – The first spoiler released for October’s box was this brown & white Henri Bendel umbrella. I honestly don’t care too much about labels/designer items, so I’d never in a gazillion years pay $58 for an umbrella (it’s not even automatic!), but I’ll use it nonetheless. 😉
‘
Morning Culture Rise & Shine Diner Mug ($16) – Do I need more coffee mugs in my life? Nope. Do I love this anyway? Yep! It features a classic diner style shape and can hold up to 10 ounces of your favorite morning beverage. It also comes boxed, making it totally gift-able if your mug cabinet has no vacancies.
Lalicious Brown Sugar Vanilla Shower Oil & Bubble Bath ($28) – I initially thought this was just a body wash, which I honestly wasn’t too excited about. However, when I noticed that it can also be used as a bubble bath… Total game-changer! The nourishing formula is rich in grapeseed oil, lipids, specialized sugar molecules, and topical probiotics to leave your skin feeling soft & hydrated. Oh, and the scent is freakin’ perfect for autumn. Love it!
Makeup Eraser Mini ($12) – I actually received one of these a few months ago in a different subscription box and have been using it daily ever since. It does a crazy good job at removing stubborn eye makeup with only a couple swipes. (I’ve been using it dry and just noticed that you should wet it first… Oops! — Still worked though!) When it starts getting too “dirty”, pop it in the washer and it’ll be good as new.
My Cup of Cocoa Dark Drinking Chocolate ($4.99) – I was thrilled to see that this drinking chocolate powder was dairy-free! In fact, it’s made with just two ingredients: non-GMO cocoa and sugar. Yay!
Special Extra: Power Your Happy: Work Hard, Play Nice & Build Your Dream Life by Lisa Sugar ($25) – Described as an “upbeat memoir from POPSUGAR’s founder”, this book features career & personal advice, encouraging stories, and other tidbits to help you achieve your goals. Not really my cup o’ tea, but I’ll probably give it a skim. I’m glad it was included as a “special extra” and not actually considered part of this month’s overall value.
Special Extra: Revlon ColorStay Liquid Eye Pen ($8.99) – One of the few makeup items that I use on a daily basis is liquid liner, so I’m totally cool with this inclusion. I’m not quite sure how I feel about the rounded tip yet, but I’ll see how it goes.
Finally, a POPSUGAR Must Have box that I was excited about! With the last few months ranging from mediocre to disappointing, it was great to receive so many items that I’ll actually use. In fact, I think this is the first time in quite a while that nothing’s going into the swap pile. Woo! Oh, and the retail value of everything was just under $120 — without including the “special extras”.
If you’d like to check out POPSUGAR Must Have for yourself, you can save $5 on your first box when you use coupon code “MUSTHAVE5” at checkout. That’ll make your box around $35 shipped!
