Let’s see what’s in the August 2019 Postmark’d PostBox!
Everything was shipped in a small white box with a Postmark’d Studio logo on top.
A peek inside!
All boxes come with a little hand-written note from the founder. — Such a nice touch!
A 2-sided info card revealed the theme for August’s PostBox — “Sweet Notes”. It also listed all of the cards included, along with the artists who made them. The reverse side of the info card featured an interview with Kate Murray of Quick Brown Fox Letterpress, based in Brooklyn, NY.
The items were all neatly stacked together and secured with a pretty blue ribbon.
Piñata Quick Brown Fox Letterpress/Brooklyn, NY
Send a little love with this fun piñata-themed card from Quick Brown Fox Letterpress. Crafted with the help of a restored 100+ year old Golding Jobber printing press, the whimsical design makes it appropriate for sending to friends, family, or anyone whom you “love to pieces”.
Sweetest Birthday Lucky Horse Press/Basking Ridge, NJ
My first instinct when I saw this card was to smell it… If you grew up in the 80’s — the glory days of scratch n’ sniff stickers — you’ll understand. 😉 A lot of the candies depicted here are even ones that I remember enjoying as a kiddo. So much nostalgia! Coupled with the neon pink envelope, this is the ultimate birthday card for a fellow 80’s kid.
Pop! Santoro London/London, UK
This colorful, pop art inspired card was created by the award-winning UK-based shop, Santoro London. It features four repeat prints of a short haired, sunglasses-wearing girl blowing a bubble with bubblegum. The card has multi-level embossing and comes with a coordinating polka dot themed envelope.
Congrats! People I’ve Loved/Oakland, CA
Sadly, I’ve never gotten an extra candy from the vending machine. — However, it has taken my money and given nothing back in return. 🙁 That said, I can certainly appreciate the sentiment in this letterpress card from People I’ve Loved.
Mona’s Lollipop Artist Jason Jones/Fayetteville, AR
Artist Jason Jones “upcycles” vintage prints & paintings from thrift stores and alters them by hand-painting his own images on top. I absolutely LOVE this concept and had fun checking out the other creations in his Etsy shop. The postcard above (clearly) features the iconic painting of Mona Lisa — with the fun addition of a giant lollipop.
Marvy Le Pen Drawing Pen Set
This fine point (.3mm) drawing pen set includes 4 colored pens in orange, lavender, pink, and light blue. They’re smear-resistant, smooth-writing, acid free, and non-toxic. My kiddos already tried to steal them, but these are too fancy to be used up in 24 hours. 😉
Vintage Postage Stamps
August’s box included a variety of differently themed vintage postage stamps, along with a handy guide that shows which ones can be used together to equal a single stamp at today’s (obscene) postage rates.
Postmark’d Studio Postcard
As always, a thick/sturdy Postmark’d Studio postcard was also included.
Candy
In keeping with the theme, subscribers also received actual candy! My box included a fun size bag of Skittles, Starburst, and a roll of Smarties. 😀
I think it’s safe to say that August’s offering was the sweetest PostBox to date! 😉 I loved all the fun sweets-themed cards and the inclusion of a few real candies was a cute touch. — Remember, for a limited time you can save 40% on your 1st box when you sign up for a 3-month subscription! — Just use coupon code “2LRB404ME” at checkout.
