Rocksbox is a subscription based “try before you buy” jewelry service that allows you to rent or buy pieces from a collection of trendy, yet affordable designers.
Upon signing up, you’ll be asked to complete a style quiz that helps Rocksbox determine the jewelry styles that best suit your needs. You can specify metal type, earring styles, ring size, stone preference, and more. You can also omit jewelry you don’t have a use for — I no longer have pierced ears, so I choose the “no earrings” option.
Disclosure: Box was received for review purposes. Post may contain affiliate/referral links.
At the end of the style quiz, you’ll have a chance to indicate additional preferences — such as designers you like/dislike, any metal allergies, upcoming events, etc. Rocksbox carries popular designers such as Kate Spade, Kendra Scott, Gorjana, Slate, Aster, Sophie Harper, and more.
Next, you can browse all of the available jewelry and add your favorites to your wishlist.
Rocksbox recommends adding at least 30 items to your wishlist so their stylists can start preparing your first box with those selections in mind. There is no limit to how many items you can add. You can also rank your top 10 favorite pieces, which are moved to the top of your wishlist and given preference over the others.
Once your stylist curates your first collection, you’ll receive an email to preview the set and swap out any pieces for others that better suit you. — I LOVE this option, as it ultimately gives you full control over the pieces you receive.
When you receive your box, you can keep and wear the pieces as long as you’d like. The $21/month membership fee allows you to “rent” an unlimited amount of sets in that single-month period. If you decide to purchase any of the pieces, you’ll be able to use the $21 fee right towards the cost of the item(s). Anything you choose to return is simply shipped back to Rocksbox in the pre-paid shipping envelope included with each box.

Okay, let’s check out my July 2020 Rocksbox!
My jewelry was shipped in a white padded envelope via First Class Mail. — Make sure you open it carefully, as you’ll need to use this same envelope to mail back any items you choose not to keep.
All of the pieces were tucked into a new summer-inspired box that is now 100% recyclable & made in the USA.
The unboxing has begun!
All of the pieces in my new set were detailed on the sheet above (also shown in the screenshot from my account). It included photos and retail prices vs. member prices for each item, along with any discounts and credits I may have earned. (Members receive $25 in “forever credit” for each person they refer to Rocksbox. This credit can be used to purchase any item(s) in your set. All members always receive special member pricing that’s lower than retail.)
Each piece of jewelry was individually packaged in its own custom drawstring bag.
WILDE Laguna Stretch Bracelet Set in Silver (Retail:
$65, Member Price: $55)
My first selection was this pretty stretch bracelet set from WILDE. I’ve found that bangles and cuffs tend to be a bit too large on me (even when adjustable), so I was excited to see a stretch bracelet offered. Well, TWO bracelets, since this came as a pair. (Score!) Initially, they reminded me of watch bands, but once I slipped them on I really liked the look. They also felt a lot heavier than other jewelry I’ve gotten from Rocksbox, which I appreciated.
Ava Rose Carolina Pendant in Silver (Retail:
$50, Member Price: $42)
I’m not sure why the pendant in the first photo looks pinkish (a reflection?), but the second photo is a better representation of what it actually looks like. 🙂 I tend to gravitate towards necklaces with shorter chains (16-18 inches), but lately I’ve been wanting something that “hangs straighter” (which wouldn’t require that I constantly shift the pendant/charm back to the center) so I opted for this longer style. The chain is 31 inches long and features sterling silver plating over brass. 90% of my summer wardrobe consists of plain black dresses in varying lengths, so I’ll definitely be wearing this versatile piece a LOT in the coming weeks.
Sophie Harper Etched Mama Cuff in Silver (Retail:
$50, Member Price: $42)
My final piece was this silver “Mama” cuff from Sophie Harper. As mentioned earlier in this post, I don’t have the best luck with cuffs but I crossed my fingers and hoped for the best with this one. Sadly, my teeny wrists betrayed me once again, with this being WAY too loose for my liking. Ah well, can’t win ’em all.
As mentioned earlier, Rocksbox provides a pre-paid shipping label to return any of the items that you don’t want to purchase. Once you’re finished trying them on/out, just place them right back in the box they came in and ship them back so they can start building your next set. Easy!
In the end, I chose to keep/purchase 2 out of the 3 pieces that Rocksbox sent this month, which I’d definitely consider a win. 😀 — Remember, for a limited time you can score a full month of Rocksbox for FREE (along with a $21 credit) when you use coupon code “2littlerosebudsxoxo” at checkout!
