Let’s see what’s in the December 2019 Postmark’d PostBox!
Instead of the usual box, this month everything was shipped in a small white mailer.
The contents!
All boxes come with a little hand-written note from the founder. — Which often include a pun or two. 😉
All of the items were neatly stacked together and secured with a pretty blue bow & little gold jingle bell ornament.
A small packet of “Reindeer Food” — consisting of sunflower seeds & festive glitter — was also included. Cute!
A 2-sided info card revealed the theme for December’s PostBox — “Oh Deer”. It also listed all of the cards included, along with the artists who made them. The reverse side of the info card introduced subscribers to Amy Wiley, owner of Suburban Soiree, where she designs and sells her own line of beverage napkins.
Reindeer Antlers Snow Made/Portland, OR
Gotta love a card that comes with a gift to give and one to keep for yourself. 🙂 Combining handmade illustrations with laser-cut wood, Chelsea Snow creates one-of-a-kind works of art in the form of greeting cards, ornaments, magnets, and more. This pretty card features a simple gold dot design with an attached birch wood antler ornament. Fun!
Fawn’d of You Alison Glass/Yorkville, VA
I know I shouldn’t pick favorites… but if I had to choose one this month, it would be the card above. I mean, that envelope couldn’t be any more festive if it tried. 😉 If the trio of multi-colored deer on the card weren’t sweet enough, they even included a fourth deer in the form of a sticker. A-freaking-dorable.
I Love Reindeer Appalachia Press/Roanoke, VA
We don’t often see tri-fold cards pop up, so this was a fun inclusion. It features a shimmery silver (red-nosed) reindeer along with the phrase “I <3 Reindeer! …and all their reindeer games!”. It’s paired with a coordinating light silver envelope.
Reindeer Lights Bison Bookbinding & Letterpress/Bellingham, WA
This card was a collaboration between Bison Bookbinding & Letterpress and artist Cary Lane. It’s a bit hard to see in the photo, but the festive garland decorating the deer is accented with gold metallic foil details. I love the wintry feel of the image and his (her?) sly little smirk is perfect.
Reindeer Food Good Postage/Ashville, NC
Okay, is this “reindeer food” idea a fairly new thing or was I just deprived as a child? Ha! I only learned of its existence after having my own kids and now I love it. The postcard above features an illustration of a big batch of reindeer food, along with its handwritten “recipe” — oats, carrots, parsley & glitter.
Stationery Set
This month’s “Artsy Doodad” item was a fawn-themed stationery set. It consisted of 12 lined pages with a tiny fawn at the top, 4 white & yellow envelopes, and 4 fuzzy fawn stickers.
Vintage Postage Stamps
December’s box included a variety of differently themed vintage postage stamps, along with a handy guide that shows which ones can be used together to equal a single stamp at today’s current postage rates. I’m LOVING the Christmas-themed ones on the top & bottom right! (Also, I totally remember using the pinecone one back in the day, which makes me feel old. Wahh.)
Postmark’d Studio Postcard
As always, a thick/sturdy Postmark’d Studio postcard was also included.
December’s PostBox was just wondeerful! 😉 The cards were all very festive without being overly “Christmas-y”. That tiny bag of reindeer food and gold jingle bell were nice inclusions too. 🙂 — Remember, for a limited time you can save 40% on your 1st box when you sign up for a 3-month subscription! — Just use coupon code “2LRB404ME” at checkout.
