Rocksbox is a subscription based “try before you buy” jewelry service that allows you to rent or buy pieces from a collection of trendy, yet affordable designers.
Upon signing up, you’ll be asked to complete a style quiz that helps Rocksbox determine the jewelry styles that best suit your needs. You can specify metal type, earring styles, ring size, stone preference, and more. You can also omit jewelry you don’t have a use for — I no longer have pierced ears, so I choose the “no earrings” option.
Disclosure: Box was received for review purposes. Post may contain affiliate/referral links.
At the end of the style quiz, you’ll have a chance to indicate additional preferences — such as designers you like/dislike, any metal allergies, upcoming events, etc. Rocksbox carries popular designers such as Kate Spade, Kendra Scott, Gorjana, Slate, Aster, Sophie Harper, and more.
Next, you can browse all of the available jewelry and add your favorites to your wishlist.
Rocksbox recommends adding at least 30 items to your wishlist so their stylists can start preparing your first box with those selections in mind. There is no limit to how many items you can add. You can also rank your top 10 favorite pieces, which are moved to the top of your wishlist and given preference over the others.
Once your stylist curates your first collection, you’ll receive an email to preview the set and swap out any pieces for others that better suit you. — I LOVE this option, as it ultimately gives you full control over the pieces you receive.
When you receive your box, you can keep and wear the pieces as long as you’d like. The $21/month membership fee allows you to “rent” an unlimited amount of sets in that single-month period. If you decide to purchase any of the pieces, you’ll be able to use the $21 fee right towards the cost of the item(s). Anything you choose to return is simply shipped back to Rocksbox in the pre-paid shipping envelope included with each box.

Okay, let’s check out my August 2021 Rocksbox!
My jewelry was shipped in a white padded envelope via First Class Mail. — Make sure you open it carefully, as you’ll need to use this same envelope to mail back any items you choose not to keep.
All of the pieces were tucked into a small lidded box that’s 100% recyclable & made in the USA.
A peek inside!
All of the pieces in my new set were detailed on the (very blurry/badly printed) label above (also shown in the screenshot from my account). It included the retail prices vs. member prices for each item, along with any discounts and credits I may have earned. (Members receive $25 in “forever credit” for each person they refer to Rocksbox. This credit can be used to purchase any item(s) in your set. All members always receive special member pricing that’s lower than retail.)
Each piece of jewelry was individually packaged in its own custom drawstring bag.
Rudiment Miramar Y-Necklace in Silver (Retail:
$65, Member Price: $55)
Sometimes I think star-themed jewelry is too “young” for me, but then I remind myself that jewelry police are not a thing. 😉 That said, I LOVE this pretty lariat-style necklace from Rudiment. It features a high-polish 16-inch chain (with 3 inch extender) with four silver star pendants hanging from a single silver chain. So pretty!
Rudiment Miramar Multi Star Drops in Silver (Retail:
$60, Member Price: $51)
Since I had already chosen the necklace above, I figured why not review the matching earrings too? These Rudiment Miramar Multi Star Drop earrings are high polish sterling silver plated and measure 1.25 inches long. They feature three star charms that dangle from a single silver chain. If I still had pierced ears, I would totally rock these. 🙂
Kate Spade Loves Me Knot Studs (Member Price: $48)
Okay, so I definitely thought these were pretzels at first glance. 😉 Turns out, they’re actually “heart knots”. If you look closely at the design, you can indeed see a heart shape with an intentional point at the bottom. These are also made of a high polish silver and measure approximately 0.5 inches in length.
As mentioned earlier, Rocksbox provides a pre-paid shipping label to return any of the items that you don’t want to purchase. Once you’re finished trying them on/out, just place them right back in the box they came in and ship them back so they can start building your next set. Easy!
Another fun collection of on-trend jewelry pieces from Rocksbox! My favorite pieces this time were the Rudiment Miramar Y-Necklace and matching earrings. 🙂 — Remember, for a limited time you can score a full month of Rocksbox for FREE (along with a $21 credit) when you use coupon code “2littlerosebudsxoxo” at checkout!
