Rocksbox is a subscription based “try before you buy” jewelry service that allows you to rent or buy pieces from a collection of trendy, yet affordable designers.
Upon signing up, you’ll be asked to complete a style quiz that helps Rocksbox determine the jewelry styles that best suit your needs. You can specify metal type, earring styles, ring size, stone preference, and more. You can also omit jewelry you don’t have a use for — I no longer have pierced ears, so I choose the “no earrings” option.
Disclosure: Box was received for review purposes. Post may contain affiliate/referral links.
At the end of the style quiz, you’ll have a chance to indicate additional preferences — such as designers you like/dislike, any metal allergies, upcoming events, etc. Rocksbox carries popular designers such as Kate Spade, Kendra Scott, Gorjana, Slate, Aster, Sophie Harper, and more.
Next, you can browse all of the available jewelry and add your favorites to your wishlist.
Rocksbox recommends adding at least 30 items to your wishlist so their stylists can start preparing your first box with those selections in mind. There is no limit to how many items you can add. You can also rank your top 10 favorite pieces, which are moved to the top of your wishlist and given preference over the others.
Once your stylist curates your first collection, you’ll receive an email to preview the set and swap out any pieces for others that better suit you. — I LOVE this option, as it ultimately gives you full control over the pieces you receive.
When you receive your box, you can keep and wear the pieces as long as you’d like. The $21/month membership fee allows you to “rent” an unlimited amount of sets in that single-month period. If you decide to purchase any of the pieces, you’ll be able to use the $21 fee right towards the cost of the item(s). (You’ll also get an extra $10 discount if you decide to keep all 3 pieces!) Anything you choose to return is simply shipped back to Rocksbox in the pre-paid shipping envelope included with each box.
For a limited time, you can score a full month of Rocksbox for FREE (along with a $21 credit) when you use coupon code “2littlerosebudsxoxo” at checkout!
Okay, let’s check out my February 2023 Rocksbox!
My jewelry was shipped in a white padded envelope via First Class Mail. — Make sure you open it carefully, as you’ll need to use this same envelope to mail back any items you choose not to keep.
All of the pieces were tucked into a small lidded box that’s 100% recyclable & made in the USA.
A peek inside!
All of the pieces in my new set were detailed on the label above (also shown in the screenshot from my account). It included the retail prices vs. member prices for each item, along with any discounts and credits I may have earned. (Members receive $25 in “forever credit” for each person they refer to Rocksbox. This credit can be used to purchase any item(s) in your set. All members receive special pricing that’s almost always lower than retail.)
Each piece of jewelry was individually packaged in its own custom drawstring bag.
Kate Spade Candy Shop Linear Earrings in Multi (Member Price: $128 — or $107 with the monthly $21 credit)
When these popped as a new arrival in the Rocksbox shop, they immediately caught my eye… I mean, how could they NOT? 😀 The sparkly, attention-getting earrings feature a linear row of multi-colored crystals that gradually increase in size from the smallest blue at the top to the largest red at the bottom. They’re made of 18k gold plating over brass and measure a little over 3 inches in length. These definitely have some weight to them, so if you prefer lightweight earrings these are not it. 😉
Perry Street Julia Statement Stretch Bracelet in Silver (Member Price: $55 — or $34 with the monthly $21 credit)
Thanks to my overly small wrists, it can be tricky to find bracelets that I can comfortably wear without them easily slipping off… That said, I was excited to discover this stretch bracelet that fits snuggly without having to even fasten any clasps. The high-polish silver bracelet is comprised of a stack of twelve clear crystal bracelets linked into a single piece — almost making it look like a cuff bracelet (only much easier to put on!).
Perry Street Camila Stone Drops in Gold (Member Price: $65 — or $44 with the monthly $21 credit)
The Camila Stone Drop earrings from Perry Street feature a small cluster of clear crystals at the top with a second larger teardrop-shaped crystal hanging below. Each earring measures roughly 1 inch in length and is made of 14k gold plated brass. Their dainty size makes them great for just about any occasion — from daily wear to fancy evenings out.
As mentioned earlier, Rocksbox provides a pre-paid shipping label to return any of the items that you don’t want to purchase. Once you’re finished trying them on/out, just place them right back in the box they came in and ship them back so they can start building your next set. Easy!
Another fun, 100% customized collection of jewelry from Rocksbox! I love how there’s no commitment to keep any of the pieces, so I can simply wear them for a bit and send them back if I don’t absolutely love them. My favorite pieces this time were the Perry Street Julia Statement Stretch Bracelet and Kate Spade Candy Shop Linear Earrings. 😀 — Remember, for a limited time you can score a full month of Rocksbox for FREE (along with a $21 credit) when you use coupon code “2littlerosebudsxoxo” at checkout!
