Healthy Surprise is a monthly subscription box for snacks — vegan/gluten-free/soy-free, all-natural-super-fantastic ones! It’s a great box for those with food allergies, vegans (hey, that’s me!), or anyone who wants to snack a little healthier.
Oh, did I mention that all of the snacks are FULL SIZE? Yep. They sure are. No sample-sized, mini snacks in these boxes! You can choose from 3 different box sizes: Starter (16-20 servings), Healthy (32-40 servings), or Large (48-60 servings). Boxes start at $33/month and you can cancel at anytime. (But why would you want to?)
Okay, less talk, more snacks! Let’s see what goodies Healthy Surprise delivered this time!
Home Free Mini Vanilla Cookies – Love these! I keep getting them in boxes and I usually eat them as soon as I see ’em. You’d never guess they were vegan & gluten-free. Perfect little cookies! Yum.
24 Zen Granola in Salty Caramel Chocolate Chunk – I wasn’t sure if I should eat this with milk, or right out of the bag. I’m glad I went with the latter, cos OMG was this stuff freakin’ GOOD. It had the perfect balance of salty/sweet and the chocolate chunks made it the most delicious granola I’ve ever had. No joke. It was fan-freakin-tastic. I was sad when the bag was empty. 🙁
Veggie-Go’s Fruit Snack in Cinnamon Spiced Beet – All-natural fruit & veggie strip made with organic ingredients. Each strip has 1/2 serving of fruit and 1/2 serving of veggies.
Health Warrior Chia Bar in Coconut – This was a tasty little snack. It was bursting with chia seeds (the first ingredient listed) and had a nice crunchy-ish(?) texture. I’m a big fan of coconut, so I really enjoyed the flavor too. It’s vegan/gluten-free/non-GMO and only 110 calories per bar.
Snapz Crunchy Premium Apple Crisps – 100% natural fruit snack made with only apples and lemon juice. Just 50 calories per serving.
Freeze Dried Crunchies Pineapple – I’ve never had freeze-dried pineapple, so I wasn’t sure what to expect with these. Honestly, I wasn’t a fan. There were only 2 “chunks” of fruit in the bag, which seemed kinda skimpy. They were super chewy and just not something I’d really wanna eat again. Sorry, pineapples.
Trophy Farms Cashews – I haven’t opened these yet, but I can only imagine that they taste like… cashews. 😉
Plum Kids Organics Mashups in Beetbox Berry – I love these pouches. Especially when they’re “Beetbox Berry” flavored. How cool is that? I’m sure the girls will enjoy this (if I don’t eat it first).
Barre Real Food Bar – “Black Swan Chocolate Berry” flavored food bar made with all natural ingredients. These bars were developed by professional dancers to provide them with “nutritional balance and natural energy”. It was alright.
Enjoy Life Plentils Crunchy Lentil Chips – All natural snack chips made with lentils. These have 40% less fat than regular potato chips and are free from 8 of the most common allergens.
Gopal’s Sunflower Seed Sprouties – I think I got a different flavor of these in my last Healthy Surprise box. I think they were some kind of spicy variation. These ones are “Cheesy” and I’m looking forward to trying them when I feel the need for something salty.
California Snax Pop Kale – I also received this brand of kale in my last Healthy Surprise box, but in pizza flavor. This one is “Sour Kreme & Onion”. I thought I had convinced myself that I liked the pizza flavored one, but I may have spoke too soon. I think it’s safe to say that I really don’t like kale chips. Also, this totally looks like a bag of weed. (I think I’d prefer that to the kale.) 😉
