It’s Taste Trunk time again! Yay! As always, I ordered the “Health Trunk” and was pleased with the nice mix of healthy (and tasty) treats I received.
For those new to Taste Trunk, there are 4 different themed boxes (“trunks”) to choose from: “Sweet Trunk”, “Health Trunk”, “Gourmet Trunk”, and “BBQ Trunk”. Can’t decide which one to get? There’s an option on their website to switch trunks whenever you want. You can change it every month if that’s the way you roll. Personally, I always stick with the Health one, since I assume I’ll have a better chance at getting vegan-friendly items in the box.
September’s “Health Trunk” was full of autumn-inspired goodies. Let’s see what I got!
Torn Ranch Berry Blossom Mix – This sounds SO good (and it totally screams “autumn!” to me). It’s a blend of dried fruits, sunflower/pumpkin seeds, and nuts. No added sugar, preservatives, or other yuckies. Yum!
I Heart Keenwah Quinoa Clusters – I’m excited to try these. They’re sweet little cranberry cashew quinoa (“keen-wah”) clusters made with all natural ingredients and they’re gluten-free. Quinoa is the only grain that’s a complete source of protein. It’s also high in fiber & full of vitamins in minerals. Hurrah for quinoa! (Strict vegans take note: They do contain honey.)
Coconut World Organic Coconut Jam – Coconut what? I gotta say, I’ve never heard of coconut jam. However, I am intrigued. It’s made with 2 ingredients: organic coconut milk and organic coconut syrup. The label says to use it on “crackers, toast, or fruits”. I’m thinking it would be better on ice cream, but I might be way off on that one… We’ll see!
Susan’s Gourmet Mango Salsa – I’m not much of a chunky salsa fan (I seriously shake the “pieces” off my chips), so I’m not too stoked about this. However, anyone else who’s down with that sorta thing (see: normal people) would be all about this stuff. It’s FULL of big ol’ pieces of mango, bell peppers, and other traditional salsa fare.
Two Degrees Apple Pecan Bar – I’ve had these bars before and they’re pretty tasty. They’re made with all natural ingredients and are vegan & gluten-free. For every bar they sell, they donate a meal to a child in need.
Hillside Candy Assorted Candies – I received a mixture of organic hard candies and sugar free taffy pieces. I’ve had the hard candy before and it’s great. All of the flavors are vegan except for two (honey lemon & honey). I just tasted one of the taffies while writing this and it was surprisingly good for being sugar-free. Mmmm!
So there you have it, Taste Trunk’s September “Health Trunk”. Oh yeah, I almost forgot, they also included a personal code for $5.00 off anything in their shop. Neat!

take a spoon and put it in the fridge first?? do you store the jam in the fridge? because it might turn into weird rocks? coconut oil is how you make diy magic shell!

Oooh! Good to know! I just have it in the pantry for now. I would *think* it would need refrigeration after opening, but who knows… Coconut jam is brand new territory for me… 😉
