I love that Vegan Presence ships at the beginning of the month. LOVE. IT. However, that said, this month’s offerings were kinda disappointing for me.
As always, the items were beautifully packaged. That’s never an issue. They always put such care into wrapping everything up so nicely and making you feel like you’re opening gifts from a friend. It’s a nice, personal touch that I really appreciate.
I suppose my “issue” this month was due to the fact that they had a guest curator choose all of the items. Normally, this wouldn’t be a biggie, except that the person chosen runs a beauty blog. As anyone who’s been reading here for a while knows, beauty is NOT my thing. (Did I just proclaim my ugliness? That’s not exactly what I meant…) I guess I’m just unadventurous when it comes to beauty products. When I find something that works, I just keep on keepin’ on. I’m not a fan of trying new things when it comes to face lotion, cleansers, etc. However, I do realize that I’m in the minority here. So I’m not saying this box is “bad”, it’s just not for me. Make sense? Awesome!
Okay… Enough rambling… Let’s see what I got!
Beanfield’s Bean & Rice Chips in “Nacho” – Thanks to sub boxes, I think I’ve tried every Beanfield’s flavor out there. My favorite one is probably the sea salt. My least favorite? Nacho. 🙁 I wanted to like them. I really did. I mean, vegan Doritos? C’mon! Sadly, they just didn’t do it for me. Don’t get me wrong, I’ll still eat these. Maybe I’ll even enjoy them this time. Stranger things have happened…
MuLondon Organic White Chocolate Truffle Moisturizer – The upside: This stuff smells SO damn good. Just like, well, white chocolate truffles. The downside: It’s a moisturizer. 🙁 I don’t wanna smear you on my face, dammit! I wanna eat you! Okay, I guess I could eat it, since it’s made with all natural ingredients… But something tells me it won’t taste nearly as awesome as it smells. I’ve had a wicked dry neck lately, so I think I’ll try it out there. and see if it helps. (Is that a thing — “dry neck”?)
Mystical House Mocha Stimulating Facial Scrub – This was my least favorite item in the box. I assumed it would be thicker and have little scrubby things in it, but when I looked inside it just looked super runny. I got a spoon to stir it around with and discovered all of the “scrubby stuff” was stuck to the bottom and hard to mix in. The only ingredients in it are coffee, raw cacao, and almond oil, which is cool and all, but I’m not sure if I feel too comfortable putting it on my face. I don’t want it to go to waste though, so maybe I’ll use it to scrub my feet in the shower? Ehhh…
Schmidt’s Cedarwood & Juniper Deodorant – I’ve only tried natural deodorant once, but it was in traditional “stick” form and wasn’t very effective. That was almost ten years ago (woah!), so I spose it wouldn’t hurt to give chemical-free odor protection another chance. Like the moisturizer mentioned before, this stuff smells so, so good… and thankfully not in a “I wanna eat it” kinda way. Just a good, “mmm… that’s niiice” way. It’s free of all the nasty stuff in conventional deodorants (aluminum, phthalates, etc.) and instead utilizes ingredients like shea butter, baking soda, and essential oils to keep you stink-free. Hopefully it works just as well as it smells!
So there it is. The September Vegan Presence box. Not my favorite, but not awful. My fingers are crossed that next month will be facial scrub/moisturizer free. 😉

I am with you on the white chocolate truffle. It made me hungry just the name and I can not even smell it. It would be cool to find a natural deodorant that works. Good luck and nice review.

It seriously makes me mad that I can’t eat it! haha
Thanks 🙂

Hi Wendy! I’m glad you’re enjoying the fragrance of your White Chocolate Truffle Moisturiser, and I hope it helps with your dry neck. It’s made with all-natural, food-grade ingredients, but it has no added sugar 🙂 Sunny, who curated this box, did taste the cream in her video review at 5m30s http://youtu.be/3wMPHJAJwQg?t=5m30s
