A peek inside!

An info card (printed on the back of one of the recipe cards) revealed November’s theme: “Gift Giving”. It listed this month’s featured oils, along with any included extras. It also provided a few safety tips for each oil/blend.

A note from Katie — recipe formulator & certified aromatherapist — revealed a bit more about this month’s theme.

November’s recipes provided clear instructions for whipping up the following:
- Citrus Spark Roll-On
- Northern Lights Bath Salts
- Frosted Fir Solid Perfume
- Warm Welcome Diffuser Blend
- Holiday Spice Lip Balm
- Winter Glow Sugar Scrub

A sheet of pre-printed stickers was also included for labeling your creations.

November’s oils included:
- Organic Cinnamon
- Pine
- Sweet Orange
- Autumn Air

Organic Cinnamon Essential Oil
Cinnamon is believed to be one of the oldest plants on earth and its oil has been used for centuries. Some of its most notable benefits include promoting circulation, cleansing/deodorizing, supporting heart health, balancing cravings, comforting respiration, and more. Since it’s a very strong essential oil, it’s best used in small amounts.
Every Simply Earth oil is printed with a Simply Pure Promise™ that ensures that the product has been quality tested and is 100% pure. Ingredients are also clearly printed on every label.

Simply Earth Pine Essential Oil
One quick whiff of pine essential oil is all it takes to transport me back to the Christmases of my past, where the scent of our freshly-cut pine tree filled the house. Needless to say, I’m quite fond of it! Pine oil also has a variety of benefits when used in home remedies. It’s great for general deodorizing, cleansing the skin, easing seasonal discomfort, supporting joint health, relaxing muscles, and more.

Simply Earth Sweet Orange Essential Oil
In ancient times, dried orange peels were often used in Chinese medicine to treat coughs and colds. Today we use its oil for a variety of purposes, including to help promote rest, support heart wellness, brighten the skin, uplift your mood, and more.

Simply Earth Autumn Air Essential Oil Blend
“Autumn Air” is a seasonally inspired blend designed to welcome in the cooler, cozier months of autumn. It contains a warm & spicy combination of lemon, orange, balsam fir, ho wood, and cassia essential oils. It’s definitely one of my favorites!

Bath Salt Blend
The package above contains a custom mixture of epsom salt, Pink Himalayan salt, and sea salt. This mineral-rich blend will be the main ingredient for making this month’s “Northern Lights Bath Salts”.

Lip Balm Tubes
Two reusable lip balm tubes were provided for holding this month’s DIY lip balm recipe. Each tube holds 0.18 ounces and measures 2.75″ long by 0.6″ wide.

Cosmetic Tin
One small rectangular tin was provided to store the “Frosted Fir Solid Perfume” featured in this month’s box. It could also be used/reused for DIY makeup like eyeshadow and blush.

Indigo Blue Mica Powder
A packet of 100% natural blue-colored mica powder was included to give a pretty hue to a few of this month’s recipes. The powder contains absolutely nothing synthetic and perfectly safe for skin.

Gift Tags
With November’s theme being “Gift Giving”, it only makes sense to include a few pre-strung gift tags! There were 6 in all, made with thick kraft paper and jute twine.
Here are the recipes that I’ve made so far:

Holiday Spice Lip Balm
Supplies needed: Beeswax*, coconut oil (solid)*, almond oil*, sweet orange essential oil, autumn air essential oil blend, and 2 lip balm tubes.
*Included in Big Bonus Box.

The first step was to melt the solid coconut oil, beeswax, and almond oil together in a microwave-safe bowl.

Once liquified, I added the specified amount of essential oil(s).

The mixture was then carefully (er, kind of 😉 ) poured into the waiting lip balm tubes.

After letting them set/harden, I adhered the provided label and the balms were ready to use.

Frosted Fir Solid Perfume
Supplies needed: Beeswax*, almond oil*, sweet orange essential oil, autumn air essential oil blend, pine essential oil, indigo blue mica powder, and a rectangle cosmetic tin.
*Included in Big Bonus Box.

Once again, I needed to heat the first two ingredients — beeswax and almond oil — until fully liquified.

Once melted, I added the essential oils and stirred. (I also added the blue mica powder, but forgot to take a photo of it in the bowl. Oops!)

The mixture was then carefully scooped into the rectangle cosmetic tin. As you can see by the lightening along the edges, it started to harden FAST.

After allowing it to full harden/cool, it took on a nice pale blue shade. 🙂

Warm Welcome Diffuser Blend
Supplies needed: Autumn air essential oil blend, sweet orange essential oil, and cinnamon essential oil.

The easiest of all the recipes, this one simply required me to fill my diffuser with water and add the specified amount drops of each of the essential oils above. Once added, I switched on the diffuser and let the autumn-inspired aroma fill the room.

Warm Welcome Master Blend
Every monthly diffuser recipe also comes with instructions for making a “master blend” that gives you a pre-made supply to use as you wish.
Supplies needed: Autumn air essential oil blend, sweet orange essential oil, cinnamon essential oil, and a 5 mL bottle*.
*Included in Big Bonus Box.

All you have to do is pour the specified amount of essential oil into the bottle…

…add the provided stickers — and you’re done!

Fortify Roll-On
Supplies needed: Sweet orange essential, cinnamon essential oil, pine essential oil, fractionated coconut oil*, and a 10mL roll-on bottle*.
*Included in Big Bonus Box.

This easy recipe simply involved placing a specified amount of essential oil into the roll-on bottle and filling the rest up with coconut oil.

Once filled, you just pop the rollerball back on top…

…then replace the cap and carefully position the sticker/label & it’s ready to use!
