Spring is (finally!) almost here and Easter is a little over 2 weeks away… What better way to celebrate the changing season and upcoming holiday than with chocolate! (Vegan chocolate, of course.) Sjaak’s Organic Chocolates kindly sent me a sampling of their holiday-themed confections to “tastefully” ring in the new season.
I’ve been a big (BIG) fan of Sjaak’s for a couple years now. I first discovered them in a subscription box (the now defunct Vegan Presence, I believe), and they’ve since been featured in a few others. They’re a family-owned business dedicated to producing high quality confections while maintaining socially responsible practices. All of Sjaak’s handcrafted treats are created with the finest organic, non-GMO ingredients.
When I first discovered them, Sjaak’s offered only a limited selection of vegan chocolates, but since then they’ve made the switch to an ALL vegan line. Everything on their site is totally vegan-friendly. Heck yes!
Bring on the treats!
Large Melk Chocolate Bunny with Fruity Bears – Nope, that’s not a typo: Sjaak’s refers to their “milk” chocolate as “melk”, since it’s made with non-dairy rice and almond milks. This melk chocolate bunny looks just like the traditional bunnies we’re all used to, but it’s made with higher quality organic, non-GMO ingredients. Oh, and it’s completely stuffed to its ears with gummy bears. Vegan ones, of course.
Organic Peanut Butter Crunch Egg – This festive egg was so pretty that I almost didn’t wanna eat it. Almost. It features a hand-decorated flower on melk chocolate with a crunchy peanut butter filling. Perfection!
Dark Chocolate Sitting Bunny – A solid dark chocolate bunny made with organic, fair trade ingredients. This was good and all, but when it comes to Sjaak’s the “melk” is where it’s at! Hardcore dark chocolate fans would definitely love this guy though.
Raspberry Hearts Gift Box – I absolutely love their “Hearts of Cherry” chocolates, but I’ve never tried the raspberry ones… Until now. These are smooth, truffle-y morsels of chocolate & raspberry-flavored heaven. Mmmm!
Ready to celebrate spring/Easter/taco night? Whatever the occasion, hop on over to Sjaak’s Chocolates and treat yo’self!
Disclosure: I received these products for review purposes. I was not compensated in any way. All opinions are my own.

I was thinking about ordering one of the bunnies with the gummy bears, but did having the fruity gummies inside make the chocoalte taste funny? Did the gummies taste chocolatey at all? I have very weird food phobias and get kind of freaked out when foods touch. I love Sjaaks peanut butter eggs but have not tried the peanut butter crunch egg yet.

I know what you mean… Honestly, I would much rather have something chocolatey inside than the gummy bears. Thankfully, they didn’t affect the taste of the chocolate at all. The only “issue” I came across was that a few of the bears were melted into the bottom of the bunny and I couldn’t dig ’em out. Otherwise, I saved all the gummies to eat after the chocolate was gone and they didn’t taste chocolatey at all. They were coated with sugar, which maybe helped them not stick to the bunny’s walls. Hope that helps! 🙂
