Smockbox is a new monthly subscription box that offers a curated selection of ethical children’s fashion, toys, and accessories for ages newborn through 2T.
Each box will contain 1-3 clothing items, 1-2 accessories (hat, bib, socks, hair clip), and 1-2 age-appropriate toys (rattle, soft plush toy, puzzle, teether). All of the products are hand-picked from small shop designers, fair trade makers, and Made In USA brands. Brands can include Winter Water Factory, Oli & Carol, Cheski Sock Co, Pebble Child, Global Mamas, and many more. Current sizes available are newborn through 2T, which you can edit at any time. Boxes are curated for boys, girls, as well as gender neutral and promise a total retail value of $80+.
Disclosure: I received this box for review purposes. I was not compensated in any way. All opinions are my own. Post may contain affiliate and/or referral links.
Subscriptions are $64.95/month or less with multi-month commitments. — For a limited time, you can save $10 on your first box with coupon code “ROSEBUDS10“!
Everything was shipped in a small white box with the Smockbox logo on top.
A peek inside!
All of June’s items were tucked into a cute drawstring bag with the Smockbox bunny logo printed on the front. The box I’m reviewing was curated for a size 2T girl.
Mezoome Organic Baby Blanket with Lining ($44)
What a cute baby blanket! The fun print reminds me of something I would have had when I was a baby myself, in the late 70’s. What gives it a more modern spin is the fact that it’s made with 100% organic combed cotton and printed with water-based, AZO-free dyes. The blanket measures 32.5 inches by 39.5 inches and is machine washable. One side features the colorful pattern, while the other is a solid coral color. My girls are always covering themselves up on the couch — even on 90 degree days — and while we try to discourage it as much as we can, this lightweight blanket is a MUCH better alternative to their current fleece ones. 😉
Begin Again Bathtub Pals (~$4.30)
These sea-themed bath toys are made from eco-friendly plant-based natural rubber and contain no BPAs, phthalates, or lead. I love that they have large openings on the bottom to help them dry thoroughly and prevent mold build up. Mold is always a concern when it comes to bath toys, so it’s great that these are worry-free. They can even be washed in the top rack of your dishwasher for easy cleanup and sanitizing.
Green Eyed Monster “Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds” Tee ($22)
This toddler sized graphic tee is from UK brand Green Eyed Monster and features officially licensed Beatles imagery. (I wasn’t able to locate the brand online, but did find the shirt for sale at the site linked above.) The tee is made with pure organic cotton and printed with non-toxic dyes. It has a unique wide waistband, cute puff sleeves, and sparkly “diamond” details. The colorful image is actually a still from the “Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds” sequence from the animated The Yellow Submarine, which is also printed on the back.
Felt Flower Hair Clips ($5?)
These sweet little felt hair clips were attached to a Mezoome card, but I’m not entirely sure if that’s who made them (I didn’t see any listed on their site). Whatever the brand, they’re adorable and I’ll absolutely be using them in my kiddos’ hair. 🙂
Wild Dill Gift Card ($10)
Also included was a gift card good for $10 to spend on anything at wilddill.com.
Smockbox is definitely an ideal box for anyone looking to provide their little ones with ethically made clothing, toys, and other baby/toddler essentials. With the exception of Begin Again, all of the brands in June’s box were new to me and seemed to be of great quality. The total retail value of everything included was roughly $85 — just above the promised amount. 🙂 — Remember, for a limited time, you can save $10 on your first box with coupon code “ROSEBUDS10“!
