Sundae’s World is a children’s subscription box that sends a new selection of blind bags and other mystery toys to your door every month.
Each suitcase-shaped box is sent to your child by Sundae, “the world’s cutest penguin”. Sundae likes to travel the world with his favorite toys — which he also sends to your child to take along on their own travels. Toys will include surprise eggs, mystery boxes, blind bags, and more. In addition to the toys, he’ll also send a postcard featuring a photo and fun facts from the place he traveled to that month. When you sign up, you’ll be able to indicate your child’s gender, favorite colors, birthday month, and any allergy concerns so they can send you a box best suited for your child.
Disclosure: I received this box for review purposes. I was not compensated in any way. All opinions are my own. Post may contain affiliate and/or referral links.
Subscriptions are $29.99/month (plus $6 shipping). — For a limited time, you can save 20% on your first box with coupon code “ROSE20“!
Let’s see what’s in the February 2017 Sundae’s World box!
Everything was shipped in a colorful suitcase-shaped box with Sundae the penguin pictured on the end.
A peek inside!
Sundae traveled all the way to Germany this month to visit Legoland Deutschland in Günzburg — which according to his postcard, features 55 million assembled Lego bricks!
Num Noms Lights
I wasn’t totally sure how this little figure was supposed to work, but after taking the photos I realized that the top flexible layer comes off to reveal a smaller figure underneath it. The smaller piece has a little button that you can press to put on a cool mini light show. Nothing too mind-blowing, but I can see why kids would like it. 😉
Shimmer and Shine Teenie Genies
My girls are super into Shimmer and Shine now, so I knew they’d be excited about this one. — It’s a blind “bottle” with one of over 130 different genie figures inside. We got what looks to be “Zora”, who I don’t recognize from the show and am assuming is just a random extra(?). Nonetheless, my girls both fought over who got to play with her first. Ha.
Shopkins Season 7 Join the Party 5-Pack
Surprisingly, my girls haven’t quite bought into the whole Shopkins obsession yet. We’ve watched a few of the “unboxing” videos on YouTube, but they’ve never actually asked to have any of their own. (Not that I’m complaining!) So this was our official introduction to the world of Shopkins. The set came with 4 figures that were revealed ahead of time, along with a mystery figure hidden inside the box and a glittery lantern to hold one of them. (Our mystery figure turned out to be “Betty Bouquet” — an ultra rare. Ooh!)
Magic MeeMees Yummee Surprises
Okay, this one really confused me until I realized that this was actually a treat for a Magic Meemees figure that you have to purchase separately. You press the button on the side and it interacts with your Magic Meemee figure. So basically, it’s kinda pointless unless you have a figure to go with it.
Powerpuff Girls Bubbles Figure Series 1
An orange surprise egg contained a Powerpuff Girls Series 1 “Bubbles” figure! I haven’t opened it yet because it looks like it hasn’t been released on Amazon yet and preorders are $15… Since my girls aren’t into Powerpuff Girls, I’d rather just keep it sealed just in case. 😉
Monster High Fash’ems Series 1
We’ve seen these on YouTube toy surprise videos, but never got to check one out in person. The figure is super squishy and has a really strong smell (thanks to whatever it’s made of). I can’t help but think that this thing will be a total magnet for fuzz and stray hairs, so I’m not quite sure if I want to hand it over to the girls just yet. Knowing them, they’d be happy enough with the plastic container anyway. 😉
Sundae’s World is a great subscription box for anyone whose kids have an obsession with surprise eggs and blind boxes. It’s nice that they let you customize the box (to some extent) with gender and color choices as well. Fun stuff! 🙂
