ThinkSoap is a new subscription box that features a different selection of artisan soaps every month. Each bar is handcrafted by master soap makers using all natural, organic ingredients. You can choose from 3 different membership options: 1 bar for $8.99/month, 2 bars for $14.99/mo., or 3 bars for $19.99/mo. (Shipping is free.) Each package includes a little bio on the featured soap maker, as well as a “possible extra surprise”!
I’m a huge fan of handcrafted bar soaps, so I was excited to check out October’s selections!
Everything was shipped in a small, nondescript cardboard box via Priority mail. There was a little bio sheet included, but I failed to take a picture of it. But it was there! Promise. 😉 The featured company for October is River Valley Soaps, from New York, NY.
Oatmeal Spice – Mmm! This is the first soap I pulled out of the box and I instantly fell in love. — It smells like autumn in soap form. Essential oils of clove bud & cassia, along with organic cloves and rosemary extract give this bar a warm, cozy scent while the oats provide a little exfoliation. Love it!
Citrus Lavender – I’m a big fan of both citrus and lavender scents, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen them combined. It totally works though. It has a sweet, yet clean-smelling fragrance and features a blend of tangerine & orange essential oils, as well as orange peel powder for super citrusy sudsin’.
Peppermint Leaf – This is a great soap to use early in the morning to invigorate your senses and snap you out of your pre-coffee fog. It’s a stimulating blend that features peppermint leaf, menthol crystals, rosemary extract, and essential oils of peppermint. The cool, pepperminty-ness of it sort of reminds me of the cold days of winter. I like it!
They also included a sample of Shea Honey Oatmeal soap. This had more of a mild scent and wasn’t nearly as interesting as the others, but it’ll get used nonetheless.
Bookmarks! — This was another fun “extra surprise”. I actually thought they were little paper hats until I read the note on the info card. 😉 My husband grabbed the darker colored one to use at work, so I’ll happily use the floral one. Cute!
ThinkSoap is clearly a great subscription for fans of handmade, natural bar soaps. It’s a little on the pricer side, as these soaps retail for $3.79 each on the River Valley Soap site. However, part of the fun of subscription boxes is not knowing what you’re going to get and that whole element of surprise. Plus, the “extra goodies” are always fun to get.
