TomBox (formerly Swaag Box) is a “time of the month” box that sends you your choice of brand name pads/tampons, as well as jewelry, makeup, and treats.
I reviewed TomBox back in October (as Swaag Box) and was impressed with the amount of products included, as well as the overall value. They recently contacted me about reviewing a current box, so I was totally happy to oblige.
TomBox offers a super customizable experience, from choosing your brand of pads/tampons, to your style of jewelry, skin tone, style preferences, and more.
Subscriptions are $16/month, or less with multi-month commitments. There’s also a “no flow” option for $10 if you’d rather not get pads/tampons in your box. Shipping is included in each plan. You can also choose to double your makeup & jewelry and/or add razors to your box at an additional cost. (For a limited time, you can get your first box for just $8 shipped!)
Let’s see what’s in my May 2015 TomBox!
Everything was shipped in a small square box sealed with TomBox tape. There wasn’t an info card, but I’m not sure if it was left out or if they stopped providing them since I last received a box.
Always Maxi Regular with Wings – I meant to choose “ultra-thins”, but picked these instead. Totally my fault. No biggie though, I’ll use ’em. I just like the less bulky ultra-thins better.
Cailyn Gel Eyeliner in Chocolate Mousse – A long lasting, smudge proof gel liner in dark brown. It’s safe for sensitive eyes and I’m curious to see how it works… I’ve never used a gel eyeliner before, so this might take some practice.
Bellapierre Cosmetics Cheek & Lip Stain – I feel like I may have gotten this in a past Ipsy or Birchbox. I get so many blushes/lip products from beauty boxes that it’s super hard to keep track of ’em all. #subscriptionboxproblems
Silver Rose Necklace – Oooh! I really like this necklace. Silver is my preferred style of jewelry and I love the simplicity of this design. Plus, it’s a ROSE. I clearly have a soft spot for roses. 😉
Cargo Cosmetics Jet Lag Concealer – This concealer claims to “reduce dark circles and under eye puffiness after 28 days”. I haven’t tried it out yet, but it’s worth a shot. It sells for $30 on Amazon, so it must be halfway decent, right?
Sampar So Much to Dew Midnight Mask – A leave-on mask that you apply to clean skin at night, then rinse off in the morning. It claims to restore moisture levels and replenish the skin.
Brow Brush/Comb – Just a regular ol’ brow brush/comb. A handy tool to have around.
Ciga Los Angeles Shimmer Shadow – I wasn’t able to find this product online and their website no longer exists. Weird. Regardless, this is a nice, light shimmer shadow.
Coolway Glow Oil Treatment – A finishing oil that contains natural ingredients including porphyra seaweed extract and Vitamin A to add vibrancy back to dull hair.
Silver Charm Bracelet – While this is a cute enough bracelet, it’s just not my style. I do like that they included another silver piece though!
Overall, I’m really impressed with this month’s TomBox. I love how much customization goes into each one and how they go out of their way to fit your profile preferences. Although I didn’t do a complete cost breakdown, it’s clear that the value is definitely there. The concealer alone goes for $30 on Amazon, so that’s almost double the cost of the entire box. Can’t get much better than that!

May 2015 TomBox Review
Since I hadn’t reviewed a SwaagBox/Tom Box since last autumn, I wasn’t sure what to expect. Clearly, I was impressed! It was nice to see so many well-known brands, as well as some pricier ones. It’s definitely worth the full price of the subscription and beyond worth the intro price of $8 shipped!
