September marked the first anniversary — I mean, “snackiversary” — of the Vegan Cuts Snack Box! Woo! Although I don’t currently have a subscription, I was lucky enough to WIN this box in a giveaway over at another blog. So awesome!
Vegan Cuts offers two different, 100% vegan & cruelty free monthly box options: The Snack Box and the Beauty Box. Both are just $19.95 a month (free shipping!) and deliver a fun assortment of snackin’ & beautify-in’ essentials. Most of the products in the Snack Box are also gluten-free (roughly 80% of ’em).
Okay, let’s see what was inside this celebratory snackiversary box!
Home Free Mini Double Chocolate Chip Cookies – I love, love, LOVE these cookies!! I’ve gotten them in a couple other boxes before and they are ridiculously good. I know it’s not cool for a vegan to say this, but you’d NEVER know these were vegan and gluten-free. I just wish I could find them locally… Though, maybe it’s good that I can’t. 😉
Meatless Select Fishless Tuna – Okay, I have never tried faux fish products, so I’m a little nervous to try this. That said, I was happy to see this in my box, because I doubt I’d buy it myself. Now that I have it, I’ll definitely make it a point to give it a try. The package says to just use it as you would normally use tuna… So I’m guessing I can mix it with some Vegenaise and slap it on some toast? That’s how I used to eat the “real stuff” back in the day, anyway.
Squarebar Cocoa Crunch – Woo! I had just eaten the same bar a day earlier (from this month’s Conscious Box) and I loved it, so I was totally excited when I saw it in this box too! The same flavor and everything. Yay! This is a chocolate-coated snack bar with a light, cocoa-y filling. It reminds me of something I used to eat as a kid, but I can’t put my finger on it… So yeah, this bar is good.
Lush Nuts Dark Chocolate Chili Peanuts – I didn’t think I’d like these as much as I did. I found them strangely addicting. They’re chocolate-coated peanuts with a spicy kick of chili powder. Not something I would buy on my own, but tasty nonetheless.
Kiwa Vegetable Chip Mix – Woah. This is a HUGE bag (7.1 oz!). Inside is a mix of beets, cassava, parsnips, plantains, and sweet potatoes. I’ve yet to open these and I’m not quite sure what to expect. I’ve never even heard of cassava, let alone eaten it. Can’t say I’ve ever had a parsnip either. Yeah, I know… Bad vegan!
Raw Snacks Apricot Cinnamon Snack Bar – I had this for breakfast the other day and it was really good. It contains all raw/organic ingredients and made for a nice, quick breakfast.
Barnana Original Chewy Banana Bites – I keep meaning to open these, but haven’t gotten around to it yet. They’re made with 100% organic bananas and nothing else. Raw/vegan/gluten-free. Sounds good! Dunno why I’m slacking on opening ’em up…
Sunology Natural Sunscreen – Fragrance-free, all natural sunscreen with an SPF of 50. The reviews on Amazon are kinda iffy, so I’m not sure that I’m going to use this.
Herbal Zap – This is an immune support supplement made from herbs. Eh. I’ve gotten these samples in other boxes and have yet to use them. I kinda hate getting supplements in boxes. Borrrrr-ing.
Other than the last 2 items, I was pretty happy with the contents of this month’s Vegan Cuts Snack Box. It had a nice variety of products, some of which were brand new to me, and some of which I already loved. Works for me!
