This is my second delivery of Vegan Presence and once again, I LOVE it! But who wouldn’t? Pretty little packages of vegan goodies delivered to your door every month — what’s NOT to love? (Bonus: They ship at the beginning of the month so I got this bundle of awesome on the 3rd. Nice!)
As with my June package, I took all of the items out and snapped some photos of ’em in their modest, wrapped up state before I unveiled their contents. The care that Vegan Presence puts into their packaging puts other boxes to shame. To shame, I say!
So what was inside all of these lovely presents? Funny you should ask…
Liz Lovely Gluten-Free/Vegan Coconut Macaroon Cookies – Oh hells yes! This was the first thing I unwrapped and I was SO happy to see something edible in my package this month. I love me some edibles. I’ve had Liz Lovely cookies before, but always in chocolate-y flavors. All of their cookies/treats are vegan (and many gluten-free). These macaroons were new to me and certainly did not disappoint. They’re super moist and practically melted in my mouth. Very rich too. I had to save the second cookie for another time. A time that will be fast approaching… (Retail price: $3.99)
Essence of Vali Sleep Massage & Bath Oil – The first item I unwrapped is this massage/bath oil by Essence of Vali. It’s made with essential oils and scented with lavender, marjoram, ylang ylang, and cedar wood. That last one makes me a little nervous… I had gotten a sample of this scent in a more concentrated form in a previous Conscious Box. I put a drop of it on my pillowcase hoping it would lull me to sleep. Instead I ended up laying awake all night, engulfed in the smell of cedar wood. I felt like I was sleeping inside a tree. Er, not sleeping. But with that said, this oil isn’t as potent as the sample vial I tried, so I’m hoping it’s a little kinder to my nose. I don’t really wanna bathe in wood chips. 😉 Oh — and I should point out that I’m VERY sensitive to smells. It drives Mike crazy. He swears I smell things that aren’t even there. Pfft. (Retail price: $12.50)
Broo Volumizing Shampoo & Conditioner (sample size) – I really expected to hate this. I’m not a fan of beer at ALL, so I figured putting this on my hair would totally gross me out. I almost gave it to Mike. BUT! I decided to give it a try and was pleasantly surprised. It didn’t smell “beery” at all. It had a really nice, unique scent that I actually enjoyed. I’m not sure how to describe it, but it was awesome. I even checked the ingredients afterward to see how much actual beer was even in it, and was shocked to see that it was the first thing listed. Never saw that coming. It also didn’t dry out my hair like a lot of other natural shampoos do. So… yay, beer! (I still won’t drink the stuff though…)
Essence of Vali Sleep Essential Oil Blend Sample – Um… Yeah. This is the stuff mentioned earlier that made me feel like I was sleeping in a tree. ‘Nuff said. 😉
Hurraw! SPF Lip Balm – I’ve heard of this brand for a while, but never had a chance to try it out… Until now! Oooh! The tube is kinda different, in that it isn’t “round” like most lip balms, but oval. Kinda like someone squished your regular tube. Pretty smart — it can’t roll away. Not sure if that was ever a problem… but yeah. The “flavor” is tangerine chamomile, which smells amazing. It’s vegan, gluten-free, raw, and certified organic. That’s one healthy lip balm! (Amazon price: $7.95)
Vegan Presence T-Shirt – Cute! An American Apparel shirt with the Vegan Presence logo. I haven’t tried it on yet, but the size looks perfect. I’m not much of a t-shirt wearer these days, but I’ll definitely try to fit this into my wardrobe at some point. It’s super soft and I love the color (high school era punk rock Wendy is hanging her head in shame). (Retail value: $20.00)
So that’s this month’s Vegan Presence “box”! Awesome, no? Want your own bundle of vegan goodies every month? Hop on over to their site and sign up! Just don’t forget to put my name (Wendy Rose) in the “referred by” section. 🙂
