Vertue is a UK-based subscription box that sends you the best in clean, green health and beauty products on a bi-monthly basis.
Each box will feature a different theme and consist of 5-7 products from both up-and-coming & well known brands. Items may include products such as skincare, bath, fragrance, hair, makeup, beauty accessories, beauty supplements, health supplements, protein blends, superfoods and more. New subscribers will be asked to fill out a beauty profile to receive products that best suit their skin, hair and fragrance type. All of Vertue’s brand partners are against animal testing and avoid using harmful ingredients such as parabens, phthalates, triclosan, SLS/SLES, formaldehyde, toulene, petroleum/mineral oil, and PEG. Note: While the box includes both health and beauty products, there will always be a larger emphasis on beauty.
Disclosure: I received this box for review purposes. I was not compensated in any way. All opinions are my own. Post may contain affiliate and/or referral links.
Subscriptions are £30 (roughly $39) bi-monthly or less with multi-month commitments. (They also offer a trial box for £18 + shipping for those who don’t want to commit to a subscription.)
Let’s see what’s in the March/April 2017 Vertue box!
Everything was shipped in a plain white box via air mail.
A box within a box!
Pasted to the inside lid of the outer box was an info sheet that listed everything inside, along with this month’s theme — Wanderlust: Asia.
The smaller box had a slide-out design which revealed the contents.
Tamanu oil — also known as the “oil of the gods” — has been used in South East Asia and the Pacific Islands for centuries as a cure-all for many skin problems. This 100% pure, practitioner quality oil can be used to heal scars, stretch marks, acne scars, abrasions, sunburn, and other common skin conditions. The oils are harvested using sustainable practices and the finished product is 100% vegan-friendly.
This concentrated night balm is designed to “provide relief for stressed acne prone inflamed skin while replenishing hydration, reactivating skin elasticity, boosting collagen synthesis and regenerating skin cells to create a natural glow”. It’s formulated with Vitamin C and Oxyresveratrol from Lakoocha extract, an extremely potent antioxidant known to correct skin tone and restore a bright, youthful appearance to your skin. It also features essential oils to target dull, brittle and dehydrated skin.
A 100% natural head-to-toe herbal mask that combines 9 powerful ancient Southeast Asian herbs in powder form which unleashes their potent healing benefits when mixed with liquid. Ideal for all skin types, this treatment will help detoxify, banish inflammation, hydrate, heal blemishes and boost circulation.
I’ve heard lots of good things about turmeric lately, so I’m excited to try this. It’s an organic vegan turmeric latte blend made with the finest organic turmeric, directly imported from an independent farm in the heart of Sri Lanka. It consists of organic coconut milk powder, organic turmeric, organic cinnamon, and organic black pepper. To make, just add one tablespoon to a cup and form a smooth paste with a little hot water. Then fill your cup with your milk product of choice and enjoy.
This all natural hair oil is formulated with Amla (from the Indian gooseberry) — a powerful hair tonic known to stimulate the hair follicle to encourage growth. It helps to strengthen the hair follicles and condition the hair, as well as treat dry, itchy scalp. The blend also contains coconut, avocado and argan oils to promote growth, strengthen and condition.
A 100% natural hydrogel mask made with 95% organic ingredients. It’s been soaked in skin-plumping botanical essence and reacts to skin temperature in order to deliver the benefits of the natural ingredients directly to your skin. Suitable for all skin types, it contains a blend of fermented seeds and rice to help rehydrate and calm dry, depleted skin.
I’ve always wanted to try oil pulling and this little sachet will make it super easy. When you swish this in your mouth, the coconut oil attracts bacteria which is then disposed of when you spit the oil out. It may also help whiten teeth, prevent cavities, reduce plaque, and more.
Vertue is definitely a great subscription box for discovering natural health and beauty products from around the world. The March/April box featured a nice variety of items with most (all?) of them being vegan-friendly. I didn’t do a cost breakdown for each individual item, but based on some of the prices I found on Amazon, I’d say the value is definitely there. 🙂
