Let’s see what’s in the “Stay at Home” Robb Vices box!
Everything was shipped in a heavy, solid black box with the Robb Vices logo printed in white.
A peek inside!
A full-color info booklet explained the thought behind this month’s theme — “Stay at Home” — and included photos & details on each item inside. All of the products were chosen to “add a level of luxury to otherwise simple things that make up our stay at home routine”.
Knocki ($99)
Knocki is a smart device that gives you instant control of your favorite functions from any surface. Unlike other devices that respond to your voice, Knocki is controlled by knocking or tapping. It works without microphones, so your privacy is ensured — no need to worry about anyone eavesdropping on your private conversations! Plus, because it doesn’t rely on voice activation, you can use it in a noisy room without having to repeat yourself.
To use, just attach Knocki to a solid surface using the included mounting bracket. Once in place, you can log into their free Smartphone app to specify actions that will correspond to a certain number or pattern of knocks. It can easily identify tap/knock patterns on tables, walls, counters, doors, and more. (For example, you can stick Knocki behind your nightstand and then knock your nightstand to turn out lights and set an alarm.) Knocki comes with a huge variety of automated functions that can be selected via the Smartphone app, but also works with Philips Hue, Nest, Lifx, countless services through IFTTT, and a growing list of 3rd party automation tools and smart home APIs. We actually have Alexa living in just about every room of our house at this point, but I’m definitely up for giving Knocki a try. 🙂
Clos LaChance 2018 Hadley’s Cuvèe ($22)
According to the info booklet, this is the first white wine that has ever been included in a Robb Vices box. 2018 Hadley’s Cuvèe — a prestige white blend that’s part of Clos LeChance’s private reserve — was created as an homage to the family’s daughter, Hadley. It’s comprised of 57% Sauvignon Blanc and 32% Viognier, with the remainder evenly split between Marsanne and Semillon. A third of the wine was aged in French Oak for 10 months, with the remainder aging in stainless steel tanks before blending. The result is a medium body, low acidity wine that features notes of apricot, banana, and fresh-baked pie crust.
The Laundress Sport Detergent ($19)
I love getting “practical” items in subscription boxes because I know they’ll get used and it saves me from buying them on my own. In the case of the item above, I would never spend nearly $20 on a bottle of laundry detergent, so receiving it this way is the only way I’d ever get to try it out. 😉
The Laundress Sport Detergent is specifically designed to safely remove perspiration, odors, and stains from all your workout clothes without any harsh chemicals. The plant-based, biodegradable formula is cruelty-free and contains no animal by-products (yay!). It also features a unique scent comprised of “leafy greens, orange, rose, eucalyptus, and jasmine”. The 16-ounce bottle contains enough detergent for 8 regular loads or 16 loads in an HE machine.
Aurora Elixirs Trio ($16)
This trio of vegan-friendly elixirs “blends the sensibility of an aperitif with the transcendental spirit of cannabis”. Each aromatic, sparkling elixir contains carefully measured levels of cannabinoids from full-spectrum extracts and all natural, non-GMO/gluten-free ingredients. The three featured flavors were Lavender Spice, Rosemary Grapefruit, and Cayenne Citrus. Aurora is delicious chilled, served over ice, or in an inventive cocktail or mocktail.
Robb Vices‘ “Stay at Home” box included a nice mix of both practical and “fun” items to enjoy while you’re stuck inside during the pandemic, winter season, and beyond. While I wouldn’t really consider any of the items to be luxe per se, they were definitely high quality and exceeded the cost of the box. 🙂 — Remember, for a limited time you can save $50 on your first Robb Vices subscription purchase with coupon code “LUXURY50“!
