I reviewed the May Yogi Surprise Jewelry Box last week, so now it’s time to check out the May Yogi Surprise Lifestyle Box!
If you haven’t heard, Yogi Surprise is a yoga-inspired subscription service that offers two different box options — yogi lifestyle and yogi jewelry. Each Lifestyle Box includes 6 to 8 full size items “designed to nourish and support your well-being, vitality and growth”. All of the products are 100% cruelty free, non-GMO, and vegetarian. Each box will have a retail value of over $70. The Yogi Surprise Jewelry Box will feature 2 handcrafted yoga-inspired jewelry pieces, as well as an organic vegan chocolate treat. All pieces will be fair trade, sustainably harvested, and free of nickel, lead, and cadmium. The retail value will always be more than $65.
Subscriptions for the Lifestyle Box are $44.95/month. The Jewelry Box is $24.99/month. You cansave 15% for LIFE on either subscription with coupon code “YOGILOVE“.
Let’s see what’s in the May 2016 Yogi Surprise (Lifestyle) Box!
Everything shipped in a pretty purple and white box with the Yogi Surprise logo on the side.
A peek inside.
An info card included a list of everything in the box, along with photos, brief descriptions, and retail prices for each one.
Himalayan Chandra Eco Neti Pot ($14 retail, $6.59 Amazon) – The neti pot has been used for thousands of years to help alleviate sinus and allergy problems. It works by gently washing away dust, pollen, and other irritants from your nasal passages. This is a biodegradable travel sized version made from plants.
Acure Organics No Strings Lip Lush ($6) – For some reason I thought all Acure Organics products were vegan, but that definitely isn’t the case. Not only does this lip gloss contain beeswax, but it’s also made with Carmine (CI 75470) which is a dye derived from crushed beetles. Boo. A pretty gloss if you’re not bothered by such things though! 😉
Made in Nature Cuban Mojo Ancient Grain Fusion ($5) – Ooh — this looks tasty! A super easy (and quick) side dish consisting of ancient grains, coconut milk, cilantro, roasted red pepper, garlic, and more. Vegan, non-GMO, and gluten-free.
Energy Muse Chakra Healing Stones ($20) – I received this same set of healing chakra stones in a different subscription box last year. It features 7 colored stones — each one representing one of your chakras. They’re used for helping your body feel more centered and balanced.
MitoSynergy MitoActivator Pro GreenTeaSynergy 8-Day Rejuvenation Pack ($35) – Meh. I’m not really into supplements — especially trial packs like this one. I also would never pay $35 for an 8-day supply of one. For those who’re into things like this, cool… But for people like me who aren’t, it’s a bummer of a high-value item.
Sola Bar Jalapeño Meal Bar ($3) – I love that this bar is vegan, but I hate that it has jalapeños in it. The peanuts, sunflower seeds, flax, and sesame seeds I can get down with… But jalapeño? Nope. Just can’t do it.
MyChelle Dermaceuticals Refining Sugar Cleanser ($7) – A sample sized facial cleanser that cleanses and exfoliates with cane sugar crystals.
Bayberry Naturals Rosehip & Hibiscus Moisturizer ($2) – Another sample-sized item, this lightweight facial lotion is packed with nutrients and provides protection against free radicals. It also has natural anti-inflammatory properties.
I didn’t love this month’s Yogi Surprise box, but it wasn’t horrible either. I think the $35 supplement was kind of a waste (especially for those who don’t use them) and could have been replaced by something more impressive for the value. I also would have liked to see a snack more on the sweeter side, as opposed to the jalapeño bar. But that’s just me. 😉 — Remember, you can save 15% for LIFE with coupon code “YOGILOVE“.
