June ZBOX unboxing time! — This month’s theme is “Mutate”.
ZBOX is a UK-based subscription box that sends you a mystery collection of geeky goodies every month. Each box will feature a new theme — from zombies and the undead to retro games and pop culture — and contain over £35 (roughly $48) worth of exclusive and licensed merchandise. The interior of each month’s box will be designed specifically around the theme and include a little “Easter-egg” for you to seek out.
Subscriptions are $31.58/month (£19.99) and they ship worldwide.
Let’s see what’s in the June 2016 ZBOX!
The box!
A peek inside.
A ZBOX mini mag revealed June’s theme — “Mutate” — and included a look at the origins of Marvel mutants, real life X-Men, and more. It also listed all of the items inside the box, along with brief descriptions and photos of each one.
X-Men Apocalypse T-Shirt – June’s t-shirt featured the same image that was depicted on both the inside lid of the Zbox itself and the mini magazine. I haven’t seen the movie, but I’m guessing the design is based on a scene from it? Either way, it’s exclusive to ZBox, so that’s cool.
Disney Infinity Hulk Figure – Last month’s box included a Rocket Raccoon Disney Infinity figure, so I was a little surprised to see another one so soon. That said, Hulk certainly goes with the Mutate theme, so I’ll give ’em a pass. 😉
X-Men Season One Hardcover – This original graphic novel takes a look at the X-Men in their early days — when they were just teenagers having to “survive hormones and uncontrollable super-powers, all while fighting for their very lives”. It has mixed reviews on Amazon, but I’d think it’d be a fun read for X-Men fans.
Fabrikations “Leonardo” Soft Sculpture by Funko – I had no idea that Funko made plush figures! How cute is this lil’ menacing Leonardo?! He stands about 6 inches tall and is wearing his signature blue bandana while fiercely clutching his katanas. Pointy weapons aside, I just wanna snuggle him. 😉
Another fun assortment of geeky collectibles from ZBOX. My favorite item is hands down the TMNT Funko plush, while my husband was most excited about the t-shirt. I would have liked to have seen one more small item included, but overall I was happy. Psst… Spoiler alert: The theme for July’s box is “Legends”!
