Anchor of Hope is a monthly subscription box consisting of items lovingly handmade by refugees, survivors of human trafficking, and others in vulnerable situations.
Each box will feature 2-4 handcrafted pieces including jewelry, kitchen items, home decor, artwork, accessories, ceramics, and more — all made by artists who have worked hard to overcome painful pasts. Anchor of Hope partners with World Relief High Point to support and employ many of the artisans featured in the box.
Subscriptions are $34/month and shipping is free. — Through 11/30/16, you can get a FREE “Brave” Bracelet with your subscription when you use coupon code “ROSEBUDS” at checkout!
Let’s see what’s in my “Summer Sampler” Anchor of Hope box!
The box!
A peek inside.
A note from the founder doubled as an info card, giving details about each item in the box and who created them. The box I received contained a collection of items from past boxes that were sent earlier in the spring/summer.
Wooden Spoon Set – These large wooden spoons were carefully etched with geometric designs by an Indian woman who studied the art of Henna in her home country. She has been in the US for 2 and a half years, where she was reunited with her mother after not seeing her for over a decade. She currently works full time helping refugees as they’re resettled here.
Rope Basket – This cute little basket is made entirely of rope and I think it’s my favorite item in the box! It was made by a group of refugees and trafficking survivors who meet once a month with Anchor of Hope to learn a new skill and earn money that helps supplement their families’ incomes. It’s the perfect size to hold pens/pencils, or even a small plant. 🙂
“Brave” Bracelet – I’m not too sure what these emerald green disks are made of, but certainly I’m a fan. — The color is just so bold and eye-catching! This pretty bracelet was handmade by a refugee woman from Cuba who undoubtedly knows how important it is to be “brave”. I’ve never seen a bracelet quite like this before and I’m really digging its unique look. 🙂
Anchor of Hope is a great subscription box that not only offers unique hand-crafted items, but also gives back to those who’ve had to struggle to get to where they are today. The items were all beautifully crafted and it was nice to learn about the individuals who made them. 🙂 — Remember, if you sign up before 11/30/16, you can get a FREE “Brave” Bracelet with your subscription when you use coupon code “ROSEBUDS” at checkout!
