Brooklyn Bagel Box is a monthly subscription box for — *drumroll please* — BAGELS!
Every month Brooklyn Bagel box will send you a dozen fresh bagels right to your door. Not enough to satisfy your bagel needs? No problem! You can also have them delivered every week.
To ensure freshness, your box o’ bagels is packaged and shipped hours within baking them. They’re sent via USPS Priority Mail and should arrive between 1-2 days in most cases.
Subscriptions are as follows: $14.95/week for 1/2 dozen, $19.95/week for a dozen, or $24.95/month for a dozen. All prices include shipping.
Okay, time to open up my Brooklyn Bagel Box!
Everything was packed inside of a large box lined with newspaper (The New York Post). Beneath the paper were the bags of bagels.
There were 3 bags total. All boxes include the following flavors: plain, egg, sesame, everything, poppy, and a “mystery flavor”.
I believe these ones are plain, sesame, and everything.
The box was sent on a Wednesday and I received it on Friday. 2-day old bagels aren’t too bad, but unfortunately I waited until Saturday morning to try one and it was a bit dry. Once I toasted it and slathered on some Tofutti cream cheese, it was pretty good. Not amazing, but good. Bagel-y.
While I like the idea of getting fresh Brooklyn-made bagels delivered all over the US, I think maybe it would make more sense to have overnight delivery. (Of course, that would also impact the price, so…) To make sure they stayed as fresh as possible, I tossed mine in the freezer for future toasting (that’s okay, right??). So even though they weren’t super fresh on arrival, I’ll still enjoy ’em throughout the month.
If you’d like to try Brooklyn Bagel Box for yourself, you can check them out here! — UPDATE: Per an email received on 5/11: “As of today, we’re putting a hold on all orders. We’re working with local bakeries on improving how the bagels are made and how we package them to ensure they’re still fresh, soft and chewy (just like a real Brooklyn bagel) when they reach you.” Clearly, they listened to their customers and will be improving their process. Nice! 🙂
Disclosure: I received this box for review purposes. I was not compensated in any way. All opinions are my own. Post may contain affiliate and/or referral links.

I live in Ohio but I have family in NY – mostly Staten Island. When we visit them, they always buy the most amazing bakery fresh bagels! I can’t even describe how good they are – they are not even the same food as bagels here… I don’t understand why someone doesn’t open a “real” bagel place around here – they would be rich! – so I love this idea and if they can make it work, I’m in!!

Yeah, I was looking forward to seeing if they were any different from the typical Tim Hortons/Dunkin Donuts bagels I get here. Hopefully they figure out a better system soon! 🙂

Hi Heather,
For the record, I’m from Staten Island as well so we’re speaking the same language. The bagels you’re talking about are the reason we started BBB. They’re big, they’re chewy and there’s nothing else like them. Unfortunately we went against our judgment and didn’t ship those bagels. We’re changing that and once we’re confident we have it, we’ll send Wendy (and you) a complimentary box so you can tell us if we got it right.
