Brooklyn Bagel Box is a monthly subscription box for — *drumroll please* — BAGELS!
Every month Brooklyn Bagel box will send you a dozen fresh bagels right to your door. Not enough to satisfy your bagel needs? No problem! You can also have them delivered every week.
To ensure freshness, your box o’ bagels is packaged and shipped hours within baking them. They’re sent via USPS Priority Mail and should arrive between 1-2 days in most cases.
Subscriptions are as follows: $14.95/week for 1/2 dozen, $19.95/week for a dozen, or $24.95/month for a dozen. All prices include shipping.
Okay, time to open up my Brooklyn Bagel Box!
Everything was packed inside of a large box lined with newspaper (The New York Post). Beneath the paper were the bags of bagels.
There were 3 bags total. All boxes include the following flavors: plain, egg, sesame, everything, poppy, and a “mystery flavor”.
I believe these ones are plain, sesame, and everything.
The box was sent on a Wednesday and I received it on Friday. 2-day old bagels aren’t too bad, but unfortunately I waited until Saturday morning to try one and it was a bit dry. Once I toasted it and slathered on some Tofutti cream cheese, it was pretty good. Not amazing, but good. Bagel-y.
While I like the idea of getting fresh Brooklyn-made bagels delivered all over the US, I think maybe it would make more sense to have overnight delivery. (Of course, that would also impact the price, so…) To make sure they stayed as fresh as possible, I tossed mine in the freezer for future toasting (that’s okay, right??). So even though they weren’t super fresh on arrival, I’ll still enjoy ’em throughout the month.
If you’d like to try Brooklyn Bagel Box for yourself, you can check them out here! — UPDATE: Per an email received on 5/11: “As of today, we’re putting a hold on all orders. We’re working with local bakeries on improving how the bagels are made and how we package them to ensure they’re still fresh, soft and chewy (just like a real Brooklyn bagel) when they reach you.” Clearly, they listened to their customers and will be improving their process. Nice! 🙂Browse more Food & Beverage Boxes in my Subscription Box Directory
