Bake Box October 2013 Review & Giveaway! Ends 11/25

Bake Box is a monthly subscription service that delivers “new flavors and cupcake inspiration” right to your door. Yep, it’s basically a “cupcake box”. How cute is that?

For $19/month (less with longer subscriptions), you’ll get a box that includes the recipe of the month, at least one high-quality baking ingredient, and various decorative supplies (cupcake liners, toppers, decorating sugars, etc).

Bake Box kindly sent me both the September and October boxes to review. The September box featured Salted Oatmeal Toffee cupcakes with Whipped White Chocolate Buttercream, which would be hard for me to veganize, since it already came with a big bag of white chocolate. I decided to pass that box along to my niece, who LOVES making cupcakes (and doesn’t give a rip about veganism). The October box featured Pumpkin Spice Latte Cupcakes, which were super easy to veganize, so that’s the box I’ll be officially reviewing. 🙂 [read more…]

Darby Smart DIY Soy Candle Making Kit Review & Giveaway

When Darby Smart contacted me last month about reviewing one of their DIY kits, I was a little nervous. As I’ve mentioned before, I am NOT too skilled at the whole “arts & crafts” thing. Like, at all.

Luckily, my fears subsided once I had a look at their website. Darby Smart has project kits for everyone — from simple beaded bracelets and candle kits, to mosaic coasters and personalized totes. Kits start at just $19 and shipping is always free!

Appleseed Lane October 2013 Review, Discount & Giveaway

Appleseed Lane is a fun new subscription box designed for kiddos 4-8 years old. The box focuses on age-appropriate science projects and related crafts. Each month features a different theme, with projects relating to it. All of the materials needed are right in the box, including a cute little illustrated booklet that explains the science behind the experiments in a kid-friendly way.

Matilda Jane Clothing is a mom-owned company that specializes in uniquely designed girl’s clothing and accessories. Their collections are fun, whimsical, and sized to fit everyone from babies to mommas.

Needless to say, when Matilda Jane contacted me to see if I’d be interested in reviewing one of their outfits, I totally jumped on it. Buying clothes for twins is NOT cheap! 😉

Twice a year, in the spring and fall, a new line is released. The outfit I received is from their Paint By Numbers collection, which can be found here.

If you’ve read my blog for a while, you know I’m not a huge fan of “beauty” products (especially makeup). Thankfully, this box had a nice mix of beauty and bath/body stuff. That was definitely a relief. 😉

Their mission is to provide you some much needed “me time” with a relaxing, spa-like experience each and every month. What could be better than that? This —> With each box sold, Mia Tempo donates a portion of the proceeds to non-profit organizations that empower women. Sounds good to me!

This month they debuted their first “Limited Edition Signature Box”, which is the box that I’m lucky enough to be reviewing. Lucky, because this is the first box in which ALL of the products are completely vegan/gluten-free! Yay!!

Whimseybox August 2013 Review, Discount & Giveaway

Whimseybox is a fun subscription box for those who like to get their craft on! Each month they send you a different DIY project, along with all of the supplies needed to complete it. They also include a pretty 5×7 art print to collect and/or get crafty with. Their motto is “Stop Pinning and Start Making!”.

I must admit, I’m not a very crafty person. Like, at all. When I was little I LOVED crafts, but now… not so much. However, now that I have 2 little girls of my own who’ll likely be all about “making things” in a few years, I figure I better start getting myself reacquainted with glue guns and glitter pens.

Unfortunately, this month’s project was a little more advanced than my current skill level (say, age 5-10 maybe?). 🙁 Hey, I told you I haven’t crafted in a while…

My Giggle Box is a monthly subscription box full of crafts & fun projects for kiddos aged 3-7. Every box includes detailed instructions, along with all of the materials needed for each activity.

There are 2 different box types to choose from: The Standard Activity Kit & The Ultimate Activity Kit. The Standard Kit is $19.99/mo and includes 1 craft, 1 activity, The Giving Project, an activity/coloring sheet, and a recipe. Little Passports Review & Giveaway August 2013

Little Passports is a fun subscription service that takes your child on an interactive adventure across the country or around the world (or both!). Each month your child will receive a package of goodies that teaches them about “geography, history, culture, and language in a fun and memorable way”.

There are two different subscription options available: The World Edition, which introduces your child to a new country every month (for children 5-10) and The USA Edition, which features 2 different states per month (for children 7-12). Each option comes with a different set of materials (World Edition comes with a mini suitcase, USA comes with a camera), so choose wisely! 😉

Phone Case of the Month Review, Discount, & Giveaway! Ends 9/16

Phone Case of the Month is a new subscription for… wait for it… phone cases!

Yep, you can give your beloved iPhone a brand new look every month with these super cute cases. Plus, all of the artwork is exclusive to Phone Case of the Month, so you’re definitely not gonna find these designs anywhere else (well, unless someone rips ’em off… but let’s hope they don’t!). They also limit the production of each design to 200 cases, so the chances of someone you know having the same case as you is very, very slim.

Oh, and these aren’t some crappy, barely fits your phone, cheaply made cases either. I’ve been using mine for a week now and I love it. They coat them with silicone for a nice, soft feel. I was afraid it might be a shiny, smooth surface, and it’s totally not. The artwork/printing is top notch too. This is quality stuff, friends! 😉 [read more…]

Sweet Pea Box is a monthly subscription for baby/kid’s clothes (sizes newborn to 8). Each month they send you a selection of clothing based on profile info you provide, such as your child’s gender, size, color preferences, style (hipster, princess, athletic, etc). You can also include any additional information to help them choose the perfect outfits for your little fashionistas.

Brands will vary, but you may receive pieces from Childrens Place, Osh Kosh, Old Navy, Carters, Gymboree, Sage Creek Organics, Kate Quinn Organics, Violet + Moss, Tea Collection, and more! Boxes are priced based on how many pieces you’d like per month: 4 items is $30, 6 items is $40, and 8 items is $50. Pieces include pants, tops, pj’s, jackets, onesies, dresses, and skirts.

Sweet Pea Box was kind enough to send me a 6-item box for review. The information I provided them was the girls’ size, style (hipster, pastel, & girly), and that they were free to send items one size up as well as their current 12 month size.

Tasty Bite Review & Giveaway! Ends 8/29

Tasty Bite recently contacted me to see if I would be interested in reviewing some of their ready-to-eat meals. I’ll be honest, I was a little skeptical of the whole “meal in a pouch” thing, but I was curious, so I accepted their offer. (I’m glad I did!)

Tasty Bite specialize in both Indian and Pan-Asian dishes, many of which are vegan or vegetarian. (They also offer gluten-free and kosher options.) The meals are fully cooked and sealed in multi-layered pouches that keep it fresh for up to 18 months. They’re perfect for taking to work, on a camping trip, or just for making a quick meal at home.
