I recently reviewed February’s Chococurb box (seen here) and was very impressed with the unique selection of chocolates they sent. By sheer luck, that box was also totally vegan. I wasn’t quite so lucky this time, but I was equally as impressed with the treats.
Chococurb hand selects 5 to 7 treats from the top chocolatiers in the world to be included in each box. The folks at Chococurb believe that chocolate is more than just food – it’s an experience to be enjoyed and shared. That’s why they only include the finest treats, made by the best brands. They also have a shop on their site, so if you discover a new chocolate you’d like more of, you can buy it right from there.
Subscriptions are $35/month, or less with multi-month commitments. (Stay tuned for a $10 coupon code at the end of this post!)
Let’s see what’s in March’s Chococurb box!
The main Chococurb box was shipped inside a slightly larger outer Chococurb box. Double the protection for your treats!
Like last month, there wasn’t an actual info card included. Instead, they sent a note about their mission to help everyone “discover extraordinary chocolate”.
Seattle Chocolates Cappuccino Crunch Milk Chocolate Truffle Bar ($3.50) – A milk chocolate truffle bar with crunchy toffee, slivered almonds, and Turkish ground espresso. Made with Rainforest Alliance Certified cocoa and gluten-free, non-GMO ingredients.
Evolve Truffles in Lavender Love and Solstice ($~6) – How pretty are these little truffles?! Lavender Love (on the left) features 28% white fair trade chocolate swirled with lemon zest and real lavender blossoms. Solstice contains white chocolate ganache blended with guava and Bulgarian rose water and coated in 85% organic chocolate. Fancy!
Diego’s Cardamom Chocolate (~$5) – Diego’s Chocolate makes all of their confections with the highest-quality Guatemalan grown cacao beans. The company is family owned & operated and all of their “bars” are made with 5 ingredients or less. While this particular flavor isn’t vegan, they do offer many that are and they’re clearly labeled as such. Nice!
Frans Smoked Salt Caramels in Milk Chocolate ($6.75) – Oooh! These sound delicious… Too bad I can’t taste ’em myself. While not vegan-friendly, they are gluten-free and made with organic, non-GMO ingredients!
Theo Chocolate Bar in Coconut 70% Dark Chocolate ($4) – I’ve actually had this bar before and it’s pretty darn good. It’s vegan (obviously), organic, and made with non-GMO ingredients. Can’t go wrong with dark chocolate and coconut!
Oma Happiness Chocolate Bar ($8) – You know you’ve got yourself a high quality, artisan-made chocolate bar when it’s got a handwritten expiration date on it! Hey, wanna know the “Ingredients for Happiness”? Welp, here they are: Cacao beans, pure cane sugar, cocoa butter, sunflower lecithin, Cardamom, Saffron, Rose Petals, Rock Salt, and your heart. Awww. Happiness just so happens to be vegan as well. 😉
Once again, I thought Chococurb put together a great box with a nice mix of uniquely flavored, artisan chocolates. The total estimated value of everything comes to about $33.25, which is right around the cost of this box. Awesome!
If you’d like to sign up for Chococurb, you’ve totally lucked out cos they’ve given me a coupon code to save you $10 on any length subscription! Just use coupon code “ROSEBUDS” at checkout.
