My second December Citrus Lane box arrived around the same time as my first one, but it kinda got lost in the shuffle of holiday-ness (yes, holiday-ness) and I’m just getting around to reviewing it. So here it is!
If you haven’t heard, Citrus Lane is a monthly subscription for babies/kids aged newborn-5. It’s $29/month (less with longer term subscriptions) and includes a nice assortment of toys, books, snacks, toiletries, etc. Sometimes they even include a gift for mom. It’s by far one of my favorite boxes to open each month.
My mom actually subscribes to this for the girls and ages it up so we don’t get duplicate boxes. I believe this one is for a 3 to 3 1/2 year old.
Let’s see what’s inside!
Not sure why I always include the first look for this box since they’re all pretty much the same, but… here it is.
The info card. I didn’t really notice a specific theme for December, but themes are kinda irrelevant with Citrus Lane anyway.
Green Toys Pizza Stacker (~$10) – I’m always happy to get more Green Toys sets for the girls. This is a Citrus Lane exclusive set, which basically just means that it has less pieces than the regular set. The full one comes with a full pie (4 pieces), a pizza box, and a cutter. I’m fine with the half set though. There’s plenty of pieces to play with, though I may need to hide the pepperoni (or tell them it’s veggie pepperoni). 😉
Melissa & Doug Friendship Stamp Set ($9.99) – This colorful stamp set comes with 9 wooden stamps, 5 colored pencils, a 2-color stamp pad, and a wooden box to keep it all together. The ink is washable and according to reviews on Amazon, it comes right off the skin with baby wipes.
“Little Hoot” from Chronicle Books (~$7.00) – A cute story about a little owl whose parents want him to stay up late, when all he wants to do is just go to sleep.
Plum Organics Jammy Sammy (~$1.00) – A snack sized sandwich bar made with organic ingredients and 100% whole grains. I almost ate it myself when I saw that it was vegan, but held back and let the girls devour it.
This was an alright box, but not nearly as good as my original December one. The products are fine and we’ll definitely use them all, but the total value ($27.99) was just under the cost of the monthly subscription which was kind of a bummer. That said, we always get multi-month plans which end up being a lot cheaper than $29/month, so it’s not a huge deal.
