Ecocentric Mom time again!
If you’re unaware, Ecocentric Mom is a unique subscription box that features mom & baby products that are eco-friendly, natural, organic, and often vegan-friendly. There are 3 different box options to choose from. I (still) subscribe to the “Mom & Baby” box, but they also offer a “Mom-to-Be Box” and just a plain ol’ “Mom” box. They also offer an “Ecocentric Box” for women in general (moms and non-moms alike!).
Subscriptions are $24.95/month, or less with multi-month commitments. You can choose to receive boxes monthly or every-other-month. Shipping is free.
Let’s see what’s in the January/February 2016 Ecocentric Mom “Mom & Baby” Box!
As always, everything was tucked beneath a layer of their signature pink tissue paper.
The 2-sided info card lists all of the items in the box, along with a brief description of each one. Exclusive discounts are also included to use on future purchases.
Acure Unscented Argan Oil Cleansing Towelettes ($6.99) – These fragrance-free, non-toxic face & body wipes can be used to gently remove makeup, dirt, sweat, and environmental toxins. They’re made with plant-based ingredients and are free of parabens, sulfates, and pthalates. They’re also 100% biodegradable.
Jenuinely Pure Baby Oil ($3.50) – An all natural baby oil made with pure organic plant-based oils including olive, coconut, and sunflower. It’s also infused with essential oils of lavender and chamomile for a calm, soothing experience for moms and babies alike.
Begin Again Backyard Buddy Blocks ($10.99) – This is so cute! It’s a great first block set that includes 4 wooden blocks that feature 6 different animal pictures. Younger children can use it to perfect their stacking skills, while older toddlers can work on building the actual puzzles. (They’re actually a lot more challenging than they look!)
Ecover Automatic Dishwasher Tablet (sample) – I’ve actually been wanting to switch from our store brand dishwashing detergent to a more eco-friendly plant-based one, so I was happy to see this sample in my box. It also came with a $1 off coupon. 🙂
Pachy Calming Fields Deodorant ($7.95) – A vegan-friendly travel deodorant that offers all day odor protection. What it doesn’t offer is aluminum, parabens, propylene-glycol, gluten, soy and phthalates.
Tangie Stain Remover Bar (sample) – This all natural stain remover bar claims to remove blood, grass, grease, sweat stains, and more. It’s made with plant-based & mineral ingredients and is never tested on animals. I’m really curious to see how well this works!
Soignee Botanical Shampoo (~$2) – A cruelty-free shampoo made without parabens, silicones, sulfates, or mineral oils. It’s plant derived and safe for both permed & color treated hair.
Enlightened Roasted Broad Beans ($1.25) – I’ve gotten these in a few snack subscription boxes, but have yet to actually try them. They’re roasted broad beans sprinkled with sea salt for a light, crunchy snack without the guilt.
Overall, this was a decent Ecocentric Mom box, but it wasn’t my favorite. I think mostly due to so many of the products being for mom rather than baby. That said, I do like all of the natural brands that were featured. My favorite item is definitely the wooden animal blocks though. 😉 Oh, and the total retail value of everything was roughly $33, so not bad at all!
