August 2017 Fit Snack unboxing time!
If you’re new to them, Fit Snack is a snack subscription box that’s curated to include items that are both well balanced and nutrient dense. When selecting products to include in the box, they use the Fit Snack “Perfect 10″. Put simply, they look for snacks that fall into one or more of these categories: Nutrient Dense (high in protein, complex carbs, low sugar index), Consciously Made (GMO free, organic production, sustainably farmed), and Diversified Energy (gluten free, clean eating, paleo, raw).
Disclosure: I received this box for review purposes. I was not compensated in any way. All opinions are my own. Post may contain affiliate and/or referral links.
Each box will contain 6 to 9 healthy (yet satisfying) items that have total retail value of at least $30. While most of the items fall into the “snack” category, they also send cooking mixes, supplements, beverages, and more.
Subscriptions are $24/month (shipping included), or less with longer, multi-month commitments. It also looks like they ship worldwide. — For a limited time, you can save $3 on your first box! No coupon needed, just click this link.
Let’s see what’s in the August 2017 Fit Snack box!
The familiar white & turquoise box was shipped via Priority Mail.
A peek inside!
An info card listed all of the snacks, as well as accompanying photos, short descriptions, and a few discount codes.
Nutiva Chia Seed
Chia seeds! I love tossing a sprinkle of these omega-3 powerhouses into my daily smoothies for an extra boost of nutrients. These particular ones are both organic and non-GMO. Each 1 tbsp serving contains 5 grams of fiber, 3 grams of fiber, and 2.5 grams of omega-3.
Raw Bite Fruit & Nut Bars
These fruit & nut bars tasted very similar to a Larabar. They’re made with all natural, raw ingredients including dates, almonds, raisins, cherries, cranberries, cashews, and mulberries. A healthy, filling snack!
KALA Sea Salt & Vinegar Crunch Fava Beans
A big bag of roasted fava beans flavored with sea salt and vinegar. These are gluten-free, vegan friendly and a good source of both protein & fiber. I’ve gotten these in a few other boxes and have yet to try them. I may have to finally have a nibble, since this flavor sounds a bit more appealing than the others I’ve received.
Purity Coffee
An organic coffee that claims to not have have any of the negative side-effects associated with conventional coffee. Their beans are specially roasted for maximum antioxidants, have near zero defects, never contain mold, are grown sustainably, and more.
Rickaroon Chocolate Blonde Coconut Energy Bar
I was super excited when I saw that this was released as the spoiler for August’s box! I love macaroons and am especially appreciative when they’re vegan-friendly. 😉 This is also organic, non-GMO, gluten-free, and soy free.
Everly Pomegranate Berry Drink Mix
I have a daughter named Everly, so I’m always happy to see this beautifully named drink mix. 😉 It’s all natural, sugar free, and has zero calories. Unlike the single-serving packs I’ve gotten in the past, this box contains 3 “pitcher” packets — enough for 24 servings.
The Whole Grain Corporation Lightly Salted Wheat Snacks
A crunchy, lightly salted snack consisting of 100% whole grain wheat that’s been roasted & seasoned. Sprinkle a bit on your salad or enjoy straight from the bag.
Dark Dog Organic Energy Drink
The first coconut water based energy drink made with certified organic ingredients including yerba mate extract, coconut flower sugar syrup, and B vitamins.
I really enjoyed August’s Fit Snack box and was relieved not to see yet another drinkable soup. 😉 Like last month, there was a nice variety of items, many which were vegan-friendly. Woo! 🙂 — Remember, for a limited time you can save $3 on your first box! No coupon needed, just click this link.
