August 2018 Fit Snack review time!
If you’re new to them, Fit Snack is a snack subscription box that’s curated to include items that are both well balanced and nutrient dense. When selecting products to include in the box, they use the Fit Snack “Perfect 10″. Put simply, they look for snacks that fall into one or more of these categories: Nutrient Dense (high in protein, complex carbs, low sugar index), Consciously Made (GMO free, organic production, sustainably farmed), and Diversified Energy (gluten free, clean eating, paleo, raw).
Disclosure: I received this box for review purposes. I was not compensated in any way. All opinions are my own. Post may contain affiliate and/or referral links.
Each box will contain 6 to 9 healthy (yet satisfying) items that have total retail value of at least $30. While most of the items fall into the “snack” category, they also send cooking mixes, supplements, beverages, and more.
Subscriptions are $24/month (shipping included), or less with longer, multi-month commitments. It also looks like they ship worldwide. — For a limited time, you can save 30% on your first box! No coupon needed, just click this link.
Let’s see what’s in the August 2018 Fit Snack box!
The familiar white & turquoise box was shipped via Priority Mail.
A peek inside!
An info card listed all of the snacks, as well as accompanying photos, short descriptions, and discount codes for each item.
Candy Pop Butterfinger Popcorn
Okay, at first glance this candy/popcorn combo doesn’t seem all that healthy… BUT it does only have 140 calories per serving and is low sodium & non-GMO. Then again, considering it consists of Butterfinger coated popcorn drizzled with Nestlé peanut butter, it’s definitely more of a splurge-y snack.
Foods Alive Lemon Chia-Crunch Power Crackers
These “power crackers” are made with nutrient-rich ingredients including almonds, walnuts, flax seed, sunflower seeds, and reishi mushroom powder. Each serving provides 3 grams of protein, 4 grams of fiber, and 2.25 grams of plant-based omega 3’s. They’re also raw, vegan, and gluten-free.
Nothin’ But! Foods Quick Fix Bars
These wholesome snack bars are minimally processed and include simple ingredients including oats, nuts, seeds, dried fruit, honey, and more. They’re gluten-free, non-GMO, and contain no fillers or artificial sweeteners. Two bars were included, along with coupons and even a hair tie. 🙂
Wicked Cutz Korean Style BBQ Flavor Turkey Jerky
Handcrafted jerky made with lean turkey breast and flavored with Korean style BBQ flavor. It’s made in the USA and contains 10 grams of protein per serving.
Vintage Italia Sea Salt Pasta Chips
These pasta chips were making the rounds in a LOT of subscription boxes last year, but I haven’t seen them in a while so this was a nice surprise. These crunchy baked snacks are made with semolina flour and have 60% less fat than regular chips. They’re also vegan friendly and non-GMO.
Shrewd Food Baked Cheddar Protein Crisps
These crunchy little baked crisps are made with real cheese and are loaded with 14 grams of protein per serving. One bag has only 90 calories, 3 grams of fat, and 1 gram of sugar.
RX Peanut Butter Nut & Protein Spread
A nut & protein spread made with peanuts, egg whites, dates, coconut oil, and sea salt. As a vegan, I’d prefer they didn’t ruin perfectly good nut butter with eggs, but what can ya do? 😉
Nutiva Coconut Oil
Cold-pressed, organic virgin and refined coconut oil in convenient single-serve packets. Great for cooking, baking, skincare, and more.
Coupons
Also included in August’s box were 3 Dr. Praeger’s coupons — one of which was redeemable for a FREE product (up to $9.99 max value)! I’ve always wanted to try one of their vegan burgers, so now is my chance. 🙂 Oh, and there was a Dr. Praeger’s hair tie too!
As with July’s, the August Fit Snack box featured a great mix of both old favorites and a few new-to-me brands. My favorite items this time were the Nothin’ But! bars, Pasta Chips, and that FREE Dr. Praeger’s coupon. — Remember, for a limited time you can save 30% on your first box!
