January 2017 Fit Snack unboxing time!
If you’re new to them, Fit Snack is a snack subscription box that’s curated to include items that are both well balanced and nutrient dense. When selecting products to include in the box, they use the Fit Snack “Perfect 10″. Put simply, they look for snacks that fall into one or more of these categories: Nutrient Dense (high in protein, complex carbs, low sugar index), Consciously Made (GMO free, organic production, sustainably farmed), and Diversified Energy (gluten free, clean eating, paleo, raw).
Disclosure: I received this box for review purposes. I was not compensated in any way. All opinions are my own. Post may contain affiliate and/or referral links.
Each box will contain 6 to 9 healthy (yet satisfying) items that have total retail value of at least $30. While most of the items fall into the “snack” category, they also send cooking mixes, supplements, beverages, and more.
Subscriptions are $24/month (shipping included), or less with longer, multi-month commitments. It also looks like they ship worldwide. If you join Fit Snack using my link, you’ll save $3 on your first box!
Let’s see what’s in the January 2017 Fit Snack box!
The familiar green & white box.
A peek inside!
An info card listed all of the snacks, as well as accompanying photos, short descriptions, and a few discount codes.
Made in Nature Figgy Pops Tart Cherry Fig Supersnacks
Oooh! These sound awesome. They’re healthy energy balls made with 100% organic & non-GMO ingredients including dates, figs, cherries, cashews, cacao nibs, coconut, and more. They contain zero refined sugar and are best enjoyed refrigerated. Can’t wait to try ’em! (UPDATE: I tried them and they’re even better than expected! SO good. 🙂 )
Keen One Quinoa Garden Medley Quinoa Cup
A healthy meal that’s ready in 7 minutes, this quinoa cup is made with organic ingredients and is vegan-friendly. Ingredients include quinoa, hemp, chia, peas, carrots, broccoli, and more — which you can see right through the clear lid. It’s gluten-free and contains an impressive 11 grams of protein per serving.
Keen One Quinoa Chipotle Quinoa Cup
A second quinoa cup flavor was included as a bonus item. This one features a blend of quinoa, black beans, corn, tomato, hemp, chipotle, and other plant-based ingredients. Again, I love that you can see the contents right through the lid.
ChocoRite Peanut Butter Protein Bar
This sugar free protein bar contains just 100 calories, yet is still packed with 9 grams of protein and 12 grams of fiber! Plus, you know, peanut butter and chocolate. 😉
Chops Teriyaki Beef Jerky
All natural, minimally processed beef brisket made with no preservatives. It’s gluten-free as well.
Purely Inspired Organic Greens
I’ve been seriously upping my smoothie game lately, so I was thrilled to see this in the box! It’s a powdered supplement made with organic veggies, fruits, whole seed grains, sprouts, probiotics, and more. It’s loaded with vitamins & minerals and is naturally sweetened. Just toss a scoop in your daily smoothie and you’re good to go.
Salad Power
I received one of these in another subscription box and I wasn’t really a fan. That said, I think the one I got was “Just Veggies”, so maybe that was why? These ones at least have fruit, which I’m assuming (hoping?) make it more tolerable. 😉 Either way, I’ll probably just use these in a smoothie for extra nutrients.
Peak Energy
These mints/supplements are packed with caffeine and B vitamins to deliver a rejuvenating boost of energy that lasts for hours. Just one tablet has the caffeine equivalent of one cup of coffee.
I really enjoyed January’s Fit Snack box. — Especially since there were so many full sized items! My favorite items were the Figgy Pops, Quinoa Cups, and Organic Greens powder. — If you’d like to try Fit Snack out for yourself, they’ve kindly given me a special discount to share with my readers. If you join Fit Snack using my link, you’ll save $3 on your first box!
