July 2017 Fit Snack unboxing time!
If you’re new to them, Fit Snack is a snack subscription box that’s curated to include items that are both well balanced and nutrient dense. When selecting products to include in the box, they use the Fit Snack “Perfect 10″. Put simply, they look for snacks that fall into one or more of these categories: Nutrient Dense (high in protein, complex carbs, low sugar index), Consciously Made (GMO free, organic production, sustainably farmed), and Diversified Energy (gluten free, clean eating, paleo, raw).
Disclosure: I received this box for review purposes. I was not compensated in any way. All opinions are my own. Post may contain affiliate and/or referral links.
Each box will contain 6 to 9 healthy (yet satisfying) items that have total retail value of at least $30. While most of the items fall into the “snack” category, they also send cooking mixes, supplements, beverages, and more.
Subscriptions are $24/month (shipping included), or less with longer, multi-month commitments. It also looks like they ship worldwide. — For a limited time, you can save $3 on your first box! No coupon needed, just click this link.
Let’s see what’s in the July 2017 Fit Snack box!
The familiar white & turquoise box was shipped via Priority Mail.
A peek inside!
An info card listed all of the snacks, as well as accompanying photos, short descriptions, and a few discount codes.
Mmm… I love plantain chips! These are made from organic plantains grown in Western Uganda under Fair for Life and Direct Trade principles. They contain no hydrogenated oils, preservatives or additives and are 100% vegan friendly.
Handcrafted in small batches, these crunchy clusters are made with gluten free oats, unsweetened coconut, organic raw virgin coconut oil, dried cranberries, organic quinoa, organic flax seeds, and other all natural ingredients. Their mascot(?) is a little questionable, but the clusters sound good!
A ready-to-drink soup made with gently cooked whole, organic vegetables and blended smooth with coconut milk. One bottle contains more than a full serving of vegetables with no added sweeteners or artificial preservatives. It’s gluten-free, non-GMO, and vegan-friendly. I said it last month, and I’ll say it again — NO MORE FAWEN! (I think this is like the fourth month in a row that we’ve gotten one of these.)
All natural fruit & nut bites made with organic bananas, organic walnuts, organic date paste, organic cinnamon, sea salt, and organic vanilla bean. These are gluten-free, raw, non-GMO, and vegan-friendly.
Wise Sea Salt Popcorn
Reduced fat, air-popped popcorn with just 70 calories per bag. Gluten-free and vegan-friendly! I’m always happy to have these convenient single-serve bags of popcorn on hand for snack cravings.
These snack puffs are made with all natural/organic ingredients including chickpea flour, rice flour, sunflower oil, seasonings, and pea hull fiber. I’ve had them once before in a vegan cheese flavor and preferred that one over this fajita version, but they’re still tasty.
All natural, minimally processed beef brisket made with no preservatives. It’s gluten-free as well.
A big dose of protein in the form of a cookie! This white chocolate peanut butter flavored treat has a traditional peanut butter cookie base complemented by chunks of white chocolate chips. It’s non-GMO, as well as gluten free and contains 16 grams of protein per cookie.
A non-drowsy supplement shot that helps to reduce anxiety and the negative effects of stress. It contains a blend of 5 key ingredients found in superfoods — GABA, L-Theanine, magnesium, B6 and B12.
A premium meat stick made with free range turkey. It’s gluten-free, soy-free and contains no added hormones.
TopBit Protein Food Topping
A savory herb flavored topping to add an extra dose of protein to your favorite foods. It’s vegan-friendly and contains 8 grams of protein per serving.
Organic hazelnut spread made with all natural, non-GMO ingredients. This contains 40% less sugar than the leading brand and is both vegan-friendly and gluten free. Thanks to the inclusion of flaxseed and chia seeds, the spread also has 450mg of plant-based omega-3 per serving.
While I wasn’t thrilled to see yet another Fawen drink included, I was otherwise pleased with July’s Fit Snack selections. There was a nice variety (and quantity) of items this time, many which were vegan-friendly. Yay! 🙂 — Remember, for a limited time you can save $3 on your first box!
