June 2016 Fit Snack unboxing time!
If you’re new to them, Fit Snack is a snack subscription box that’s curated to include items that are both well balanced and nutrient dense. When selecting products to include in the box, they use the Fit Snack “Perfect 10″. Put simply, they look for snacks that fall into one or more of these categories: Nutrient Dense (high in protein, complex carbs, low sugar index), Consciously Made (GMO free, organic production, sustainably farmed), and Diversified Energy (gluten free, clean eating, paleo, raw).
Each box will contain 6 to 9 healthy (yet satisfying) items that have total retail value of at least $30. While most of the items fall into the “snack” category, they also send cooking mixes, oils, and the like.
Subscriptions are $24/month (shipping included), or less with longer, multi-month commitments. It also looks like they ship worldwide. If you join Fit Snack using my link, you’ll save $3 on your first box!
Let’s see what’s in the June 2016 Fit Snack box!
The big blue (teal?) Fit Snack box!
A peek inside.
An info card listed all of the snacks, as well as accompanying photos, short descriptions, and a few discount codes.
Nature’s Path Organic Qi’a Bar – I’ve eaten a lot of Nature’s Path products, but this one is a first for me. (I’m guessing it’s new?) It’s a vegan-friendly, gluten-free superfood snack bar made with natural ingredients including roasted peanuts, dried coconut, fair trade chocolate chunks, chia seeds, hemp seeds, and more. One serving has 5 grams of both fiber and plant-based protein.
Burkart Organics Mixed Dried Fruit – This big 8-ounce resealable bag is packed with sun-dried fruit slices. Included is a mix of persimmon, apricot, yellow peach, white nectarine, and jujube — no sugar or preservatives added. All of the fruit is 100% organically grown, then harvested and packaged by hand.
High Brew Coffee Dark Chocolate Mocha – A refreshing cold brew coffee made with fair trade beans. Each can has just 8 grams of sugar and 60 calories.
Kracklin’ Kamut – These little packets contain organic Kamut grains which have been roasted and lightly salted. They can be sprinkled on salads, veggies, fruit, or just eat ’em straight from the bag. I just ate a package and they’re pretty good… The grains look like Sugar Smacks but taste like corn nuts. 😉
Grayson Natural Sweet Smoked Beef Stick – Oh, the dreaded meat stick. At least this one’s made with 100% grass-fed, hormone free beef?
Kiwa Chips – These colorful chips are made using potatoes grown on small plantations over 10,500 feet above sea level in the highlands of Ecuador. Ingredients consist of Native Andean potatoes, non-hydrogenated palm oil, and salt.
Smarty Pants Vitamins – These were listed as a “bonus item”. I’ve gotten SO many of these gummy vitamins in subscription boxes, but can never use ’em since they contain gelatin. Boo.
There was also a packet of Tranzend Detox Stix in the box, but it split open during transit and left a sticky powder residue all over the rest of the items. 🙁
Overall, not a bad Fit Snack box. It wasn’t my favorite, but it had a few decent items in there. If you’d like to try it out for yourself, they’ve kindly given me a special discount to share with my readers. If you join Fit Snack using my link, you’ll save $3 on your first box! No coupon needed — just use my link!

Why “Oh the dreaded meat stick,” Seems pretty negative for a snack you haven’t tried – and it’s actually called a Beef Stick.

I’m a longtime vegan, so reviewing straight-up meat products can be a wee bit tricky. (Which is why I dread seeing them in the boxes I receive.)

Oh I see, other than that detail you have great reviews I was just curious. My son is a vegan and he has celiac so I understand how that could be.
