September Fit Snack time!
If you’re new to them, Fit Snack is a snack subscription box that’s curated to include items that are both well balanced and nutrient dense. When selecting products to include in the box, they use the Fit Snack “Perfect 10″. Put simply, they look for snacks that fall into one or more of these categories: Nutrient Dense (high in protein, complex carbs, low sugar index), Consciously Made (GMO free, organic production, sustainably farmed), and Diversified Energy (gluten free, clean eating, paleo, raw).
Each box will contain 6 to 9 healthy (yet satisfying) items that have total retail value of at least $30. While most of the items fall into the “snack” category, they also send cooking mixes, oils, and the like.
Subscriptions are $24/month (shipping included), or less with longer, multi-month commitments. It also looks like they ship worldwide. If you join Fit Snack using my link, you’ll save $3 on your first box!
Let’s see what’s in the September 2015 Fit Snack box!
The big teal box!
As always, an info card listed all of the snacks, as well as short descriptions and a few discount codes. This month’s box definitely had a high protein theme goin’ on.
Ips Protein Chips in White Cheddar – These puffed corn chips are made with egg whites and pack 6 grams of protein into each serving. They’re also gluten-free and have half the fat as regular chips. It would have made more sense to include two different flavors, but I suppose it doesn’t matter since I can’t eat ’em anyway. 😉
Trophy Farms All Natural Oven Roasted Cashews – A simple, natural snack of oven roasted cashews with just a touch of sea salt. Each serving has 5 grams of protein.
Wilde Bars in Maple Bacon Blueberry & Peach BBQ – I’ve never seen a protein bar made with actual meat. The Maple Bacon Blueberry bar includes free range turkey, uncured bacon, blueberries, maple syrup, and other natural ingredients. Peach BBQ contains grass fed beef, flax seeds, peaches, chia seeds, quinoa, and more.
TRUProteins Dark Cocao Nutra Whey – An all natural, Australian grass-fed whey protein powder made with no preservatives, GMOs, additives, artificial colors or flavors. It’s gluten-free and packed with omega 3’s.
Tosi Cashew Super Bites – Yay, a vegan snack! This healthy snack bar is made with pure and simple ingredients including cashews, chia seeds, flax seeds, and sesame seeds. It features plenty of protein, fiber, and omega 3’s. It’s also certified gluten free.
Amara 100% Raw Fruit Sports Drink in CoffeeBerry & Pomegranate – This natural sports drink is made with 100% raw fruit, electrolytes and caffeine from the CoffeeBerry. It’s the official drink of the Paleo diet.
MHP Fit & Lean Chocolate Fudge Protein Brownie – A great choice if you want high protein with not too many calories, this brownie has an impressive 15 grams of protein, 5 grams of fiber, and only 190 calories per serving.
Coupon – I usually don’t include coupons in reviews unless it’s a high value, or there’s a ton of ’em. This one is for a FREE bottle of “WTRMLN WTR” watermelon water, which is pretty cool.
The featured Fit Snack workout this month was a “Full Body Rebel Workout”.
I wasn’t personally too stoked about this month’s Fit Snack, but mainly because there weren’t many vegan-friendly snacks. It wasn’t a bad box by any means, just not an awesome one for vegans. 😉
