It’s here! My June Citrus Lane Box finally arrived today. It always feels like I’m the last person to get theirs. My box tends to hang out in Jersey for an extra day, gettin’ its GTL on. Not cool, box. Not cool.
Since I got mine so late I had already read a ton of spoilers, so I had an idea of what would be in this month’s box. The theme was “Fun in the Sun” and all of the boxes in my age group (11 months) included a hat, sunscreen, a sand/pool toy, and some kind of snack. There were a lot of complaints on Facebook about the size of the sunscreen, and the fact that buckets were sent without any kind of shovel (no one likes a shovel-less bucket!). So after seeing all of the bad reviews, I was kind of nervous about getting ours.
To my surprise, my box was actually pretty awesome. (No shovel-less bucket! Woo!)
Here’s what I got…
Opening the box is always exciting… Even when I already have an idea of what might be inside. Hey, it’s the little things…
Water Toys from Haba – These toys are made in Germany using PVC-free plastic. The little red boat looks like it can connect to other boats (according to their website). It normally comes in a set of 4. The cute dolphin dude is actually a squirt toy. I couldn’t find either of them on Amazon, and it was hard to determine the retail prices from the Haba site, since they weren’t sold separately. Prices aside, these will be fun for the girls to use in the bathtub/pool, so I’m definitely happy with them. Way better than a bucket! 😉
Episencial Sunny Sunscreen SPF35 (1.5 oz) – The bottle says that this is safe for ages “0+”, so wee little infants can use it too. It’s made with green tea and “Actively Healthy Ingredients”. No harsh preservatives, fragrance/gluten-free. Works for me. Would have been nice if it were larger (especially with twins), but what can ya do.
Happy Baby Organic Veggie Homestyle Meal – I’m always nervous when I get snacks/food products in boxes because I never know if they’ll be vegan. I was relieved when I saw that this is made with coconut milk, as opposed to dairy. Yay! It’ll be interesting to see how the girls like this blend — basmati rice, coconut milk, and carrots. Such fancy-pants baby food! I like it. 🙂
Infant Hat by i play – This hat is SO cute! I’ve been meaning to get the girls sunhats and this is perfect. It’s made of UV-protective fabric that’s UPF 50+ AND it’s reversible (the inside is all pink). The infant size fits 6-18 months, so it’ll be good for at least a year. Now I just need to snag one more so the girls can match. (Yep, I’m that mom.)
So that’s my June box. Though it’s not as awesome as last month, it was still a great box. All of the items were of good quality and will all get used.
Citrus Lane is $25/month (cheaper with 6-month/annual subscriptions) and if you click my link below, you can get $10 off your first month, so your initial box will only be $15! Woo!
Disclosure: I purchased this box with my own money. I was not compensated by Citrus Lane in any way. All opinions are my own.
