Keto Krate is a subscription box that sends you a variety of Keto-friendly snacks every month.
The ketogenic (keto) diet is a high-fat, adequate-protein, low-carbohydrate diet that’s said to help your body burn fats rather than carbs. Keto Krate helps you stay on track by sending you a selection of foods and snacks that fall within the guidelines of the Keto diet. In addition to these snacks, each Krate will also contain helpful Keto tips, advice, member case studies and success stories.
Subscriptions are $34.95/month plus $3.95 shipping.
Let’s see what’s in the September 2015 Keto Krate!
Everything was shipped in a large orange box with the Keto Krate logo.
The info card listed all of the items I’d find in the box, along with descriptions and retail prices for each one.
Braaitime Biltong Seasoned Dried Beef ($10) – Unlike most jerky’s, this one actually includes fat — an important component of the Keto diet. It’s flavored with garlic & parsley and contains just one gram of carbs per serving.
Fiber Gourmet Thinables ($3) – These are described as low-carb Cheese-Its, with just 7 grams of carbs per serving. Included were three different flavors: Garlic & Herb, Cheese, and Pizza.
Dixie Carb Counters Blueberry Cream Muffin Mix ($9.39) – An all natural muffin mix with just four grams of carbs per serving. According to the info card, this is the best reviewed low carb muffin mix on the market.
B-Up Sugar Cookie Protein Bar ($2.92) – This bar actually looks really good and I’m a bit curious as to whether it really has sprinkles on it. One bar has an impressive 20 grams of protein, 20 grams of fiber, 2 grams of sugar, and just 5 grams of carbs.
Nick’s Sticks Beef Stick ($3.25) – Nick’s Sticks are made with grass-fed beef from his family’s own network of farms. They’re free of gluten, nitrates, hormones, dye, sugar, and other artificial ingredients. Net carbs per serving: zero.
SparX Xylitol Candies ($1.99) – These candies are made with 100% xylitol, which are said to inhibit the growth of bacteria that causes cavities and tooth decay.
Explore Asian Organic Black Bean Spaghetti ($5.99) – I’ve gotten this in a few other subscription boxes and have yet to work up the courage to try it. It’s basically “pasta” made with black beans and water. Each serving has just five grams of carbs.
I honestly don’t know too much about the Keto diet, but for those who do follow it Keto Krate would be a great way to discover new Keto-friendly snacks. The total value ($36.51) was just about equal to the monthly subscription (plus shipping), which isn’t too bad considering you don’t have to pay shipping on each individual item like you would if you purchased them on your own. Plus, it’s an easy way to try new products from the comfort of your home.
