Loot Crate has offered up a totally epic box this month — their biggest box yet! December’s theme is “Anniversary” and includes goodies from franchises who are currently celebrating big milestone anniversaries: The Simpsons (25 years), Ghostbusters (30 years), Tetris (also 30 years), and more!
If you’re not aware, Loot Crate is a monthly subscription box for fans of gamer/geek culture. Every month you’ll get a box packed with 6-8 items that can include toys, gear, snacks, hardware, art, accessories, and more! (They’ve even been sending limited edition Loot Crate exclusive items!) Boxes are $19.37/month (price includes shipping), or less with longer subscriptions.
Let’s see what’s in the freakin’ box!
First look. The box itself was a lot bigger than usual, which is usually a pretty good sign.
Exclusive The Joker Batman-Batman POP! Vinyl Figure ($???) – Another Loot Crate exclusive vinyl Funko figure! This one features Batman dressed up as the Joker and is actually pretty darn cute. (Though not quite as cute as August’s Groot exclusive!) I have no clue what to list as the value since this is exclusive and not sold anywhere else.
Exclusive Dancing Groot Crew Socks ($?) – Speaking of Groot… How flippin’ adorable are these socks?! My husband recently re-watched Guardians on Netflix and while I tuned out most of it, I couldn’t help but smile at the little dancing Groot at the end of the movie. I don’t think the husband would be caught dead in socks that could be described as “cute”, so these are alllll mine!
Simpsons “Cast Mighty Wallet” from DynoMighty ($15.00) – I’ve always been a big fan of the Simpsons — I even had an impressive collection of talking figures back in the day — so I was excited when I found out there was going to be a Simpsons item in this month’s Loot Crate. When I heard it was a wallet, I was kinda bummed. That is, until I saw it. — It’s a “Mighty Wallet” that’s super light, yet mega strong. It feels like it’s made of paper, but instead is a durable thin plastic that’s both water and tear resistant. It also has lots of little compartments and actually expands over time. Neat!
Exclusive DC Comics Batman Comic Book Issue 36 ($?) – Another Loot Crate exclusive comic with exclusive cover art by illustrator Greg Capullo. This is Issue 36 – “Endgame”.
Tetris Sticker Set from Paladone ($7.65) – I was never good at Tetris (I kinda sucked), but I tried… This is a neat sticker set that features 147 colorful puffy stickers in the shapes of, well, Tetris shapes. There’s also a little booklet/guide that shows how to make different patterns and designs with them. Hopefully I won’t suck at that too.
Exclusive Ghostbusters Door Hanger ($?) – I haven’t used a door hanger since middle school (elementary school?), but maybe my kiddos will be into this someday. It’s a laminated, water-resistant Ghostbusters hanger that features Slimer on the front and “Warning: Ghost Bustin’ in Progress” on the back.
Captain America Air Freshener ($2?) – My husband still has his Sonic the Hedgehog air freshener in the car from a past Loot Crate, but I’m guessing its freshening abilities are long gone. Time for Captain America to take his place!
Even more stuff! – This month’s mini mag features an interview with Stan Lee! There’s also a free 30 day trial of Crunchyroll, a Loot Crate Anniversary pin, and a broken candy cane (easier to eat).
Wow! Now that’s one seriously PACKED Loot Crate! With plenty of exclusive items to boot! I didn’t bother trying to calculate a total value, since so many were exclusive to Loot Crate, but you can bet it’s (well) worth the less-than-$20 a month cost. And thensome.
