“Unity! As one stand together!”… Time to join me for yet another Loot Crate unboxing! April’s theme is “Unite!” and features some notable team players. Two heads are better than one, yes?
If you’re new here, Loot Crate is a monthly subscription box for fans of gamer/geek culture. Every month you’ll get a box packed with 6-8 items that can include toys, gear, snacks, hardware, art, accessories, and more! (They’ve even been sending limited edition Loot Crate exclusive items!) Boxes are $19.37/month (price includes shipping), or less with longer subscriptions.
Okay, bring on the May Loot Crate unboxing!
May’s mini mag/info booklet featured a look at the “greatest comic teams of all time”, an interview with BOOM! Studios, and more.
A peek inside. I spy a shirt! And Marvel! And a box-y… box.
Green Ranger T-Shirt from Flophouse – I was never into the Power Rangers, but this shirt is kinda cool. I like the vintage style and it’s nice to see a gray shirt instead of the usual black or white. It’s very soft too!
Marvel Super Heroes Ice Tray from ICUP, Inc – A fun item to include for sippin’ summertime beverages, super hero style. Can be used for plain ol’ ice cubes, as well as Jello and candy molds.
EXCLUSIVE Rick and Morty 300-Piece Jigsaw Puzzle by Cardinal Industries, Inc. – I’ve never heard of Rick and Morty, but I’m giving myself a pass since it’s on Cartoon Network and we don’t have cable. 😉 This puzzle measures 11 x 14 inches and contains 300 pieces.
EXCLUSIVE Bravest Warriors Tales from the Holo John #1 from BOOM! Studios – An exclusive Loot Crate cover design adorns this collection of “must-have bathroom reading”. It contains fives stories, as well as a pin-up poster.
Marvel Avengers: Age of Ultron Car Decal – Pretty self-explanatory. Unfortunately (fortunately?), my husband isn’t quite geeky enough to stick this on our car.
Marvel Sneaker Laces – Also self-explanatory. Subscribers could receive either a full color or gray and black set of 48″ laces. We got color.
EXCLUSIVE MAD Magazine Loot Crate Edition – I actually used to be into MAD Magazine for a bit when I was a kid. I always liked the fold-in pages at the end that revealed a “secret” message/scene (if I’m remembering correctly?). Anywhoo… I’m keeping this one sealed, but inside are tributes to the Avengers, Justice League, and The Hobbit.
EXCLUSIVE Team Fortress 2 Button Set – Nope, no idea what Team Fortress (or Team Fortress 2) is. I thought these were magnets at first and was kinda bummed to realize that they’re pins. Magnets I would have actually used… Pins, not so much. Ah well.
Wow — there were SO many items in this month’s Loot Crate! While I wasn’t quite familiar with a lot of the “teams” represented here, I still think it was a fun box. A t-shirt, puzzle, ice cube mold, comics, decal, pins, shoelaces… A little something for everyone! Needless to say, it’s definitely worth the cost of a monthly subscription.
