Mama June’s Southern Treats is a quarterly subscription box curated by June Shannon (aka Mama June).
Each box will feature “the best, most finger-lickin’ ingredients, delectables and products in a box themed on one of the lower states”. From a Georgia peach pie to Kentucky BBQ to New Orleans bayou beignets, each quarter they’ll be bringing you everything you need to make your favorites. Items can include snacks, baking mixes, tea, spices, condiments, sweet treats, and more.

Let’s see what’s in the Winter 2018 Mama June’s Southern Treats box!
Everything was shipped in a brown box with the Mama June’s Southern Treats logo on top.
An info booklet listed all of the products in this quarter’s holiday-themed box, as well as photos and brief descriptions of each one.
Southern Treats Mug with Spoon
The winter box included quite a few non-food items, which I always enjoy seeing in food-heavy boxes like this one. First up was this green ceramic mug featuring “Bless your heart” in white text on the front, and the Mama June’s Southern Treats logo on the back. It also came with a little white ceramic spoon, which could be perched right inside of the holes on the mug’s handle. Cute!
Southern Treats Hot Chocolate
To test out your new mug, Mama June included a packet of her own hot chocolate mix. She describes it as being “rich, smooth, and delicious”. I’ll be finding out soon enough, since (to my surprise) the mix appears to be vegan-friendly. Woo!
Holiday Cookie Cutter
Another non-food item came in the form (ha!) of this star-shaped cookie cutter. It was made here in the USA and is perfect for all your cut-out cookie makin’ needs.
Mama June’s Fudge Brownies
Mama June is hooking me UP this quarter, as these brownies appear to be vegan-friendly as well (the mix itself is anyway). It’s made with 100% soft red whole wheat flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, and sea salt. You’ll just need to add oil, eggs (or the vegan equivalent 😉 ), water, and vanilla extract. Then bake for 30-ish minutes, cook, and enjoy. Yum!
Lane Southern Orchards Blueberry Pecan Preserves
According to the info booklet, the Lane family has been growing peaches, blueberries, and pecans on their Georgia orchards for over 100 years. These blueberry pecan preserves are made with just 4 simple ingredients: blueberries, cane sugar, pectin, and pecans. I’m thinking this would be awesome on pancakes! Mmm.
Wondermade Sugar Cookie Marshmallows
These handcrafted marshmallows combine the festive flavor of classic sugar cookies with the fluffy gooeyness of, well, marshmallows. Drop a couple in a mug of hot chocolate, use some to make s’mores, or just eat ’em right out of the box.
Simply Savory It’s Better with Bacon Dip Mix
I can’t personally agree with the “everything is better with bacon” ideology, but those of you who do will surely be a fan of this dip mix. To make it, simply combine the packet contents with one cup of sour cream and one cup of mayonnaise, or mix with 2 cups of plain Greek yogurt or 2 cups of plain hummus. It can be used a dip for chips, veggies, bread, and more.
Chenatlin Colshat Pecan Pralines Scented Soy Candle
I saved my favorite item for last — a pecan praline scented soy candle from Chenatlin Colshat! I cannot stop smelling this thing! Not only does it smell exactly like pecan pralines, but it’s also totally eco-friendly & features 100% soy wax with a natural cotton wick. I LOVE it!
June’s Recipe Cards
Also included in this season’s box were 4 recipes whipped up by Mama June herself: Fudge Brownies, Better with Bacon Dip, Black n’ Bleu Baked Brie with Georgia Pecans, and Homemade Mallomars.
The Winter 2018/Holiday box from Mama June’s Southern Treats was packed with great items to enjoy during the holidays and beyond. I loved that she included a nice mix of both edible and non-edible products this time around. My personal favorites were the ceramic mug/spoon combo, hot cocoa mix, cookie cutter, brownie mix, preserves, and of course that pecan praline soy candle! 😀 — Remember, for a limited time you can save 15% on your first box with coupon code “ROSEBUD15“!
