If you’re new to them, The My Pretend Place Projects box is geared towards children 3 to 8 years old. It contains all of the materials needed to complete a new pretend play item each month. They actually include enough materials to make 2 of each project — perfect for siblings or friends to join in the fun.
Subscriptions are just $15/month and shipping is free. While the My Pretend Place Dress-Up subscription ships quarterly, the Pretend Play Projects box is sent every month.
Let’s see what’s in the November 2015 My Pretend Place Projects box!
The materials were all shipped in a small box wrapped with brown kraft paper.
November’s box featured a brief lesson on Native American headdresses and materials for your child to create one of their own.
A project sheet included a list of the materials provided and step-by-step instructions on how to assemble the headdress.
Two felt headbands and a variety of self-adhesive felt shapes were included…
…as well as colored feathers, string, and plastic beads.
The instructions suggested cutting the felt into different shapes, so I asked the girls what they’d like. They got hearts, stars, their initials, a kitty head, and a few random bits. I handled the cutting, but they were in charge of the placement.
Their completed masterpieces!
Haha. One was a little more excited about wearing it than the other. 😉
Also included in every box are themed stickers (which we used on our headdresses), a magnet, and a plastic handle to turn the shipping box into a suitcase or dress-up chest for continued pretend play.
I was happy to see that November’s My Pretend Place Projects Box had a seasonal theme going on. It gave me a chance to tell the girls a little bit about Thanksgiving and Native Americans. Of course, they’re only 3, so I didn’t get too into the actual history. I would have liked to have seen one additional project included, but overall it was a decent box and the girls had fun with it. 🙂
If you’d like to sign up for the My Pretend Place Pretend Play Projects box, they’re offering new customers 30% off their first box! Just use coupon code “pretend” at checkout. I believe this also works for their Dress-Up Box (you can see my review of their latest Dress Up Box here)!
November 2015 My Pretend Place Projects Box Review
I liked that they did a seasonal theme for November and hope they decide to do more boxes with that in mind. I’d love to see fun snow/winter themed boxes in the coming months!
