Vegan Cuts, the folks behind the awesome Vegan Cuts Snack Box, have just shipped out their very first “Beauty” box. It’s a skincare/makeup/body care box that features products that are cruelty-free and vegan-friendly. I wouldn’t normally be all that interested in a box like this (I’m just not into makeup-y stuff), but it was their first one, so I was curious. Plus, it was only $19.95 and promised to have $65 worth of products in it. So I took the bait.
I got the box today and was immediately bummed out by its size. It was a VERY small package. And as we all know, size does matter. At least with subscription boxes. 😉
I held out hope that it would wow me, tiny box aside, but… it didn’t. I don’t know if it’s because of my indifference towards most “beauty” products, high expectations (considering the awesomeness of the snack box), or if it really was just… lacking. I’ll let you decide…
Namaste Jemma Pouch – This was one of the “preview” items that Vegan Cuts showed us in the promo video for the new box. When I saw that this (along with the nail polish in the photo) was going to be included, I figured the rest of the box would have equally “large”/full size items. Sadly, I was wrong. The pouch is cute and all, but do I need it? Nah.
LVX Deco Nail Lacquer – Are “lacquer” and “polish” one in the same? Is lacquer just a fancier way of describing it? Honestly, I have no clue. I’m not kidding when I say I don’t know jack about makeup. This shade is a coral-y pink, which is nice, but a little too light for my super fair skin. I like a color that “pops” against my extreme whiteness.
Swagger Cosmetics Eyeshadow(?) in Golden Rose – The little pot doesn’t say what this is, so I’m just going to guess eyeshadow, since it’s kinda sparkly. I do wear eyeshadow, but usually darker shades. This is like a shimmery gold color that I’m not too sure I could pull off.
Glamnatural Mascara – I DO wear mascara on occasion, so I’ll definitely try to put this to use. It’s chemical-free and ophthalmologist recommended. Vegan, gluten-free, paraben-free, and all that good stuff.
Essence of Vali Sleep Oil – Yep, another one. I think this is the 5th or 6th one I’ve gotten in the past month or so. If you’ve read any of my recent reviews, you know how I feel about these. If you haven’t, let’s just say I’m not a fan.
The Fanciful Fox Peanut Butter Lip Balm – This is my favorite thing from the box, and it wasn’t even on the info card. It smells SO damn good. Just like peanut butter. Yum! It’s made with fair trade/organic cocoa butter and shea butter, and of course, it’s vegan.
NYL Skincare Rosewater Face Wash – This sounds like a nice product, but I’m always nervous to switch up my face washing routine (I have temperamental skin!). It’s a gentle, chemical-free cleanser and astringent for all skin types. Made with all organic ingredients consisting of rosewater, vegetable glycerine, and castile soap. Okay, after typing all of that, I just may need to try it after all. I don’t think it could hurt. *fingers crossed*
Acure Organics Argan Oil – I keep hearing about argan oil, and how beneficial it is, but never had an opportunity (or reason) to try it. Welp, here it is. The bottle says that it’s good for “facial serum, cuticles, hair serum, elbows/knees, and scars/fine lines”. That’s a lot of uses! It’s supposed to “repair imperfections and restore elasticity”, which is great, but I still don’t know what I would personally use this for. Not that I don’t have imperfections… They’re just imperfections that this little bottle alone isn’t capable of fixing. 😉
Suntegrity 5-in-1 Tinted Moisturizer – This provides “hydration, coverage, sun defense and more” for yo’ face. They kinda lost me at the “tinted” part. As mentioned before, I am whiter than white, so I’m not a fan of anything that has a tint to it. Chances are, it won’t match my skin and I’ll look like a giant turd. Not a good look.
And there you have it. Vegan Cuts’ first Beauty Box. So what do you think? Were you more impressed than I was?
If you want to try a box out for yourself (including the snack box!), head on over to Vegan Cuts!

Dang, I knew I should have ordered one of these! I would love it just for the bag and lip balm alone. Though that tinted sunscreen and nail polish look awesome to me too! Hmm, now considering signing up for the next one.

Yeah, I figured I’d be in the minority of people who weren’t too thrilled with it. I’ll stick with the snacks. 😉
I DO really like the lip balm though! Yum.

I received that same lip balm in one of their snack boxes 🙂
