Austin Lloyd is a great new subscription box for little ones. They offer unique, high-end toys selected specifically for your child’s current “play level”. When I first got a peek at the list of brands they partner with — Hape, Melissa & Doug, Haba, etc. — I knew it was going to be a fun box!
Austin Lloyd is committed to providing toys that are not only engaging, but also bpa & phthalate free. None of the toys will ever require batteries and the total value of the items will always exceed the cost of your box. Awesome! Oh, did I mention that they also give you the option of sending your toys back once you’ve outgrown them so they can donate them to a charity? Yep. They do that too. 🙂
Every box contains 4-5 toys and at least 1 book. Month-to-month subscriptions are $49.99 (or less with a 6-month commitment) and shipping is always free.
The box I received was for a play level of 13-18 months. (They range from 0 months to 3 years.) My girls just turned 16 months today, so this box was perfect. Oh, and November’s theme was Thanksgiving. — Alright, let’s dig in! [read more…]
Tique Box is a new-ish (started over the summer) sub box that features products native to its region. Which region, you say? — Portland, OR! 😀
Now, I don’t know a TON about Portland, but I do know that they have an abundance of vegan-friendly eateries… That alone is enough to make me wanna visit. (Hey, I like me some food.) The only thing I don’t like about Portland (though it’s totally not their fault) is that godawful Portlandia show. I really, really wanted to like it, but… sigh… it just wasn’t meant to be. I found it to be very much like SNL, in that a lot of their recurring characters are boring/annoying/make me want to stab them with a fork. And holy crap on a cracker… Where am I going with this??
Back to the box! — Tique Box promises to “deliver Portland to your doorstep” in the form of locally made treats, crafts, home goods, and more. Boxes are $24.95/month. Right now they have two season-inspired boxes available for purchase: The Fall Box and the Holiday Box. I received the Fall Box for review. Let’s have a look-see, shall we? [read more…]
Yay! Another month where I’ve gotten my Ecocentric Mom box before seeing any spoilers first! Woo!
If you haven’t already heard, November is the last month of the Ecocentric Mom monthly boxes. From here on out they’ll be sending them every other month… Which means no more boxes until January. (sad face)
As always, I received the “Mom & Baby” box this month. The other two options available are a “Mom-to-Be Box” and just a plain ol’ “Mom” box.
Let’s see what I got! [read more…]
I feel like I keep forgetting to post my Conscious Box reviews here. I know I didn’t include one last month… But to be honest, that box was kinda lame so I decided not to bother with a review. Thankfully, this month’s box was a little more blog-worthy. 😉
Conscious Box is a monthly subscription box that features eco-friendly/natural products. Items range from healthy snacks, to natural toothpaste, and everything in between. There are 3 different boxes to choose from: The Vegan Box (which I get), The Gluten-Free Box, and the Classic Box. All boxes are $19.95/month, but you can almost always find a coupon code — often up to 50% off! Woo! (There’s a code below for a FREE box!)
Now let’s see what was in this month’s November (vegan) Conscious Box, shall we? [read more…]
Dottiebox is a fun little subscription service that features “high quality handmade items, small businesses, and indie brands”. The goodies you receive can be anything from household items and candles, to jewelry and beauty products — it’s always a surprise.
Dottiebox has two size options: The “original” Dottiebox ($20/mo) and the Dottiebox Mini (2-3 items at $13/mo). Due to the handmade nature of the items, boxes are limited and can easily sell out.
I was recently sent the November Mini box to review. Let’s take a look at what was inside, shall we? Onward! [read more…]
Citrus Lane is having a HUGE sale for new AND existing members! They don’t often have deals for current members, so this is kind of a big deal. 😉
Right now you can get a 3-month sub for just $56 (normally $75)
6-months for $105 (normally $150)
12-months for $196 (normally $300)
I always get excited when I find out about new sub boxes — especially ones that are tailored to babies/kiddos. That said, you never know quite what to expect when you receive a brand new box. Will it totally suck? Will it be full of dollar store clearance toys and sample sized Cheerios? Welp, I’m happy to say that this box was awesome.
Silly Rhino was founded by Anna, a mom of two boys who was having a hard time finding fun, quality toys and healthy snacks in her town. She spent hours researching products online and found that she wasn’t the only mom stuck weeding through reviews to find suitable things for her kiddos. She decided to create a service for parents to easily provide fun, educational bundles of awesomeness without having to spend hours online researching every single product. Thus, Silly Rhino was born. 🙂
Boxes are designed around your child’s age and gender. The box I received is for a 1 to 2 year old girl. Subscriptions start at $35.99 monthly, and are less with a 3 or 6 month commitment. Shipping is always free.
Alright, time to see what we got! [read more…]
*As of December 2015, Citrus Lane is no longer in business. If you’re looking for an alternative, bluum is a great choice. — You can see my reviews of them here. With bluum, you can choose your own products and build your own box. They feature the same great brands, plus you can save $10 on your first month with coupon code “MRVA286CCE“.*
It’s Citrus Lane time again! I saw plenty of spoilers this month, so I was pretty sure I knew what I was going to get. I was hoping for different variations of the things I got, but no such luck. Ah well. It’s still a pretty good box.
If you don’t already know, Citrus Lane is a monthly subscription for babies/kids (aged newborn-5). It’s $25/month (cheaper with longer subs) and includes a nice assortment of toys, books, snacks, toiletries, etc. Sometimes they even include a gift for mom.
The theme this time is Thanksgiving/holiday mealtime and my box is geared towards a 16-month old girl. Let’s checka-check it ooout! [read more…]
Taste Trunk is a monthly food/snack subscription that offers 4 different themed boxes (“trunks”) to choose from: “Sweet Trunk”, “Health Trunk”, “Gourmet Trunk”, and “BBQ Trunk”. (If you’re not sure which one to try, there’s an option on their website to switch trunks whenever you want.) I always stick with the Health one, since I assume I’ll have a better chance at getting vegan-friendly items in the box. (Usually it works out in my favor.) Boxes are $29/month.
Taste Trunk as also just announced the addition of “Mini Trunks” — available in “Sweet” and “Health” — for just $13/month!
This is a review of the “full-sized” Health Trunk! [read more…]
Bestowed is a monthly subscription box that features healthy snacks & foods carefully chosen by nutritionist/author Heather Bauer.
Boxes are only $19/month (including shipping!) and contain a nice variety of different snacks, food items, and beverages to help you start or maintain a healthy lifestyle.
November’s box focuses on products that’ll help you “kick your workout regimen into gear”. Being the lazy turd that I am, I don’t have any regimen that needs gear kicking. Lucky for me, you don’t need to be a pro athlete to enjoy this box. In yo’ face, fitness! Erm… Yeah. Let’s go ahead and see what’s in the box. [read more…]
After a couple months getting the “deluxe” Love With Food box, I decided to switch back to the regular, smaller one. We’ve got SO many snacks piled up from boxes, that we’re running out of cupboard space. Total snack overload up in here.
November’s theme is “Flavors of Fall” and features items chosen by Chef Ryan Scott. As always, with every box purchased, Love With Food donates a meal to someone in need. Love that.
Alright, let’s see what’s inside… [read more…]
