I wasn’t too impressed when I initially saw the spoilers for the March POPSUGAR Must Have box, so I wasn’t all that excited when it arrived at my door. I think I got a little spoiled by the awesomeness that was February’s box. Ah well…
If you’re new here, POPSUGAR Must Have is a monthly lifestyle subscription box that’s curated with a fun variety of “on trend” products curated by the POPSUGAR team. Items can range from food, beauty, household, fashion, fitness gear and everything in between. Unlike a lot of other subscription boxes, everything in this box is full sized. No foil packets in this bad boy.
Monthly boxes are $39.95 and there’s almost always a discount code available (I’ve included one at the end of this post!). With most boxes having values of $100+, it’s a GREAT deal!
Okay, let’s see what’s in the March POPSUGAR Must Have box!
Like last month, the box was rather heavy. Usually a good sign.
The inspiration for March’s box included the themes “renewal, citrus, spring break, fresh, and traveling”. Meh. They kinda lost me at spring break & traveling. I’m lucky if I get to leave my house twice a week. #momlife
As always, the info card included photos, descriptions, and retail values for each item.
Bliss Micro Magic Spa-Powered Microdermabrasion Treatment ($48) – A microdermabrasion treatment that promises “spa-perfect results at home”. It contains volcanic pumice to scrub away dead skin cells, and Vitamin E and aloe to moisturize. Sadly, it also contains parabens. Granted, they’re the last thing in the ingredient list (so the amounts are very small), but still… Kind of a bummer for such a pricey product.
Wet Brush Detangling Brush ($4.99) – This sells for almost $7 on Amazon, but I’ll keep POPSUGAR’s retail price since that’s possibly more accurate(?). I actually bought one of these not too long ago after hearing great things about them. They’re supposed to work wonders at detangling the gnarliest, knottiest heads of hair. I honestly didn’t think it did much at all. The bristles are very flexible and seemed to just glide over my knots instead of detangle them. Mehhh.
Samudra Pink Pina Zip Pouch ($40) – Nope, not seeing the appeal here. Or the value, for that matter. I swear I had something very similar to this in the 80’s that I used as a pencil case. This is much larger, maybe 8″ x 11″ or so… I personally think it looks tacky as hell and I really don’t understand how it can have a retail value of $40. (I wouldn’t even pay 40 cents for this thing.) That said, my girls will now have a hella overpriced, oversized pencil case. 😉
Greenmarket Purveying Co. The Archivist Lemon + Cucumber Reed Diffuser Kit ($20) – Okay, now THIS I like. It’s a handmade, natural diffuser kit featuring the fresh scents of lemon and cucumber. The kit includes a 4 oz bottle of fragrance and 8 reeds. I absolutely LOVE the smell of the oil. Perfect for spring.
Knock Knock What to Pack Pad ($7) – Welp, since I rarely leave the house I won’t get much use of of this. It’s a cute idea though. The pad has 60 sheets, so I imagine it would last quite a while. (A lifetime for me.) I’ll probably end up giving this to the girls to use when we start taking vacations.
Benefit Cosmetics Roller Lash Mascara and POREfessional (~$5?) – These were included as “special extras”. I love the cute little box they were packaged in. I have a TON of mascara that I rarely use, so I’m not too stoked about that one, but the POREfessional stuff seems kinda cool. It’s supposed to minimize the look of pores and smooth out your skin. Worth a shot.
Halfpops Halfpopped Popcorn in Chipotle Barbeque ($1.69) – I’ve seen these in other subscription boxes and they never really appealed to me. They’re crunchy kernels of corn that haven’t quite reached the “popped” stage (hence, “halfpopped”). I haven’t tried them yet, but I just imagine them getting stuck in my teeth and/or chipping one. This flavor does happen to be vegan though, so I may have to sample a kernel or two. I’m due for a dentist visit anyway. 😉
So yeah… Not a huge fan of this month’s POPSUGAR box. My favorite item was definitely the diffuser kit, but the rest of the things were just… underwhelming. They totally lost me with the whole $40 pouch thing, then the parabens didn’t help. As always, the value was totally there (roughly $126), but it just didn’t wow me this month. Can’t win ’em all.
If you’d like to sign up for POPSUGAR Must Have, you can save $5 on your first box when you use coupon code “MUSTHAVE5” at checkout. That’ll make your box around $35 shipped!

I’m with you on this box. I wasn’t able to get this one because it was sold out. Now I’m glad I didn’t pay $40. For this. Thank you for the review.

Glad it’s not just me! 😉
